The Flood And The Covenant

17th of Cheshvan / 23rd of October

Are you ready? Today is a day of both covenant and tribulation. Which will it be for you? What do you decide? Today is the day that the great flood of Noah began (Genesis 7:11) and just 10 days from today, when Noah, his family, and all of the animals exited the ark onto dry ground (Genesis 8:14-15). On one hand it was the beginning of the great judgement upon mankind and all the earth, but is also a time to remember God’s new covenant over all creation.

As we continue in this Shmita year we see very clearly around the world that a major storm is brewing. The question is will you choose to bow and succumb to the spirit of fear or will you meet this season in stride according to the Spirit you have been given by Almighty God of power, love, and self-control to be the light the darkness cannot comprehend? This day is friendly reminder on the Biblical calendar that we do indeed have that choice, and we need to know right now how we will decide.

In relation to the Holy Land, this season is all about Israel receiving the early rain as spoken of in Joel 2:23, a time when the rains usually are very intense, refilling the reservoirs and soaking the ground in preparation for the next harvest season. However, that has not yet happened this year with only sparse rains at best instead of the intense downpours needed. Please join us in praying for rain in Israel as it will decide the size of the harvest that is to come, as well as nations around the world who have also received record low rainfalls and droughts this year. Adonai bless you and keep you!
