Sukkot

Sukkot 5783

As we celebrate Sukkot in the joy of Adonai we get to proclaim the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit and Fire in the nations and back to Jerusalem just as Yeshua Himself did on the 7th day of Sukkot in the Second Temple to all of Israel.

“Yeshua stood and called out [in a loud voice], “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’” But He was speaking of the [Holy] Spirit, whom those who believed in Him [as Savior] were to receive afterward.”

Just as Ezra read the Word of God to Israel from the Water Gate in Jerusalem at this time, and Sukkot was celebrated for the first time in generations, this is the hour we are being called to proclaim the living Word into all the earth and see the awakening of the end times generation for this end times harvest to be reaped. We remember the goodness of YHWH as the one who provided everything for us in the exodus through the desert (Leviticus 23:33-44), and see before us the coming wedding of Yeshua and the bride. The Feast of Trumpets has passed, marking the 10 days of preparation for Yom Kippur (the day of Atonement), but now it is time to celebrate what was, is, and is to come. We once celebrated Sukkot for the final harvest of the year and for next year’s, but now we know it is also to celebrate the final harvest of souls before the second coming of Yeshua.

The Coming King

As we rejoice at Yeshua’s second coming during this feast, we remember why the people of Jerusalem when Yeshua entered on a donkey waived and laid down palm branches on His approach. Because they also knew that Sukkot represented the celebration of the coming of the Messiah, and the Law commanded the use of palm branches and other foliage for the building of their temporary shelters. They knew the appointed time had arrived, but do we see clearly the season that is approaching and already here? It was during Sukkot that the kings of Israel were traditionally anointed, and even the time when the presence of God entered the 1st temple upon its commemoration. Was this a coincidence, or a clear statement from Adonai that His appointed times were and are indeed important for both Him and ourselves to be prepared? This is the hour to proclaim and rejoice that the King is coming, the moment to line the streets of the city so to speak to welcome back the King of glory.

A Prepared Bride

During the second temple period, on the first day of the feast, the priests would bring gigantic menorahs to the women’s court of the temple where the people would gather to celebrate, and they were so big and bright that it would light up the whole city of Jerusalem at night. Many would say who cares, and why is this important, but look at how perfect God is. Is this not the exact picture of the virgins with their oil lamps waiting for the Bride Groom? Menorahs in the women’s court of the temple lighting the entirety of the city.

It is not only a picture of our current posture, but a picture of what is to come when there will no longer be the sun, moon, and stars because Yeshua will be all the light needed to see. What a God we serve and a reminder during this Sukkot to ourselves that we are called to be the light of the world until His return. Let it shine! To be one with God as the Bride of Yeshua and one together, we are called to be the nameless and faceless generation with none being greater than the other, and not to honor or glorify ourselves, but honor and glorify the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for the salvation of the lost and walking dead, as well as Yeshua’s return.

Moved by the Master

Sukkot is both an open heaven to receive, but also our platform to prophecy just as Yeshua did from the temple on the 7th day of this feast the things still to come according to what Adonai has already bound and loosed in the heavenly places. Despite Yeshua being under threat of being arrested by the authorities in Jerusalem, He chose to go to Sukkot anyway because He knew there was something the Father wanted Him to proclaim. As the Holy Spirit and fire dwell within us, moving tabernacles of the Holy Spirit, we are reminded that like Yeshua, and like the tabernacle of Moses we are called to move only as the Father guides and leads no matter where and how He tells us to do it. Had Yeshua not heard clearly from the Father to go up to Jerusalem on Sukkot, everything in the natural told Him don’t go. We are no longer driven by the natural though, but the supernatural Holy Spirit in us. As we enter into what are certainly uncertain and chaotic times, we are reminded not to think according to the world, but according to heaven, to have a logic that says even if God is calling me to walk through the desert I know I will not hunger, thirst or lack for shade. If He is calling me to a dangerous place, He is my protector, and so on, but never to let the fear of the world move us one way or the other. We are donkeys of the Kingdom, only moved by the voice of our Master.

To Be Sent

Today is a reminder to all of us the importance of the Fear and awe of Adonai which leads to a life of repentance, as well as the joy of the Most High who has set us free from Sin and death, the Great High Priest forever in the order of Melchizedek who has allowed us by grace through faith to be written in the Book of Life. On this day, every Jubilee year, the shofar is blown to mark its celebration, a year when inheritances are returned and debts annulled. For every believer, today marks a moment when we celebrate our inheritance being returned and sins being annulled. Being born again from above, today is a reminder to celebrate our new heavenly inheritance in Yeshua, and walk through the doors of our new reality as sons and daughters of God, a day to step fully into our destinies, and see the books Adonai has written for our lives in heaven, and reset ourselves according to His dream for us. Enjoy the Holiest day in Scripture and do not let this window of open heavens and appointed time with Adonai go to waste, He is waiting to see you in the Holy of Holies. Call of Sukkot

This is the moed to prophesy the winds of the Spirit coming from the 4 corners of the earth to fan the flames of fire and move the waters of the Holy Spirit, for the glory of God to go forth throughout the earth and for the nations to come up to Jerusalem once again. This is the time to pray for the return of the Jewish people declaring Isaiah 43:5-6, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth”. We celebrate the coming wedding feast with rejoicing wherever we are prophesying the return of the King and the marriage of Yeshua and we His bride!

Check your lamp oil and if need be fill it to the brim and have extra in store to be prepared in this late our in these end times. Be as stubborn as a donkey in having only an ear for the King of Kings so as not to waver at the world’s advice and those who would bring doubt, fear and division. Read the Word aloud this Sukkot in remembrance of what happened to Israel in the desert, what Yeshua said on the 7th day of the feast, and prophecy what is written about the wedding day to come. By royal decree through the blood of Yeshua take up your mantle as a son or daughter of the Most High in the fulness of your inheritance with eyes to see and to be sent boldly wherever Adonai sends you. This Sukkot marks one of the greatest transitions in both the natural and the Spirit in the history of the world whether we are ready or not, so let’s prepare together as the spotless bride Yeshua is coming for.
