Praying For Israel: Nazareth Illith
As we continue praying for the salvation of Israel city by city, this week we pray for a place located in northern Israel right next to the Biblical city of Nazareth where Yeshua was raised a child. Nazareth Illit meaning Upper Nazareth recently had its name changed so as to keep from any confusion that Nazareth was a part of Nazareth Illiteracies, which has now been renamed as Nof Hagalil meaning Galilee View.
Newly named Nof Hagalil is a 75% Jewish community with more than 50,000 residents nestled between the city of Nazareth on its western border and near the Sea of Galilee on its eastern border. The entire area would have been a place where Yeshua no doubt knew very well and grew up in, fulfilling the prophecy written in Isaiah 9:1-2 by living in the land of Zebulun and Naphtali. Countless prayers would have been said in this area by Yeshua and a myriad of miracles signs and wonders been done here too seeing as not far from Nof Hagalil Yeshua also resided on the shores of the Galilee in Capernaum (Matthew 4:13). However, the community in Nof Hagalil were not happy with be mistaken as part of the place where Yeshua lived and did much His ministry, hence the name change, but now we are praying for salvation for those ashamed by the name of Yeshua.
We pray for salvation to run through the streets of Nof Hagalil where people would least expect it, in the natural being a place of much contention between the Jews and Arabs seeing as Nazareth is the largest Arab city in Israel right on Nof Hagalil’s border. It is prime territory for reconciliation, forgiveness, and to see Jews and Arabs being one in Yeshua and one amongst themselves. In the same land where it is written, “In earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He will make them honored [by the presence of the Messiah], by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles” (Isaiah 9:1-2). May the return of Yeshua the Messiah come swiftly and powerfully to Nof Hagalil and may salvation spread throughout Eretz Israel for such a time as this! Adonai bless you and keep you!
