Kislev

From Darkness To Light

Known as the Month of Darkness and the Month of Lights, Kislev is a conundrum at first sight. Its nights are the longest of the year and Kislev is the very door into winter, but it’s also the month of Chanukah, the Festival of Lights from Kislev 25 to Tevet 3 (November 28 to December 6th).It is a period of history when Israel was almost snuffed out for good only to return from death in impossible circumstances to restore the Menorah, the light, to the temple and bear witness to the miracle of the oil that did not run out. Today, the grand campaign against the light of Yeshua has not waned, and we find ourselves in similar circumstances around the globe. The stars of Kislev tell us what is to come, the tribe is a picture of death undone, and the month’s very name means trust and hope. We are fools to the world, but not overcome, and the secret of this 9th month will put the enemy through the ropes.

We are being challenged this month, not only individually, but as the global Bride of Yeshua, the same global Bride that Adonai expects to be unified when He arrives. The agendas of darkness are being rushed before their time and we are being called to arise and shine. Trouble, and terror, and chaos will come as it is written as the birth pains intensify and quicken, but while everything is shaken we are to awaken. Harvest time is here, and our resolve should be that nothing shall make us cower in fear, for that is reserved only for Adonai as we stand in awestruck wonder before Him. In these exciting times, what is being stirred up within you? Fear and uncertainty, or faith? Are we inundating ourselves with voices of doubt and anxiety, or in the Word with Adonai? The Light of the world has come Kingdom Family! Now is the time to let faith arise. Adonai is moving everything into position, and He alone will be glorified.

Kesith (Sagittarius)

The constellation over Israel this month is Kesith which is the picture of an archer drawing a bow while sitting atop a horse, but to complete the picture in the night sky we see his arrow aimed directly at the heart of the scorpion trying to sting the heal of the man who represents Yeshua wrestling with the snake. The constellation of last month, Cheshvan was the Scorpion. It was during Cheshvan that we were reminded of the authority given to us through Yeshua “to stomp on the heads of snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, satan” (Luke 10:19). As we have taken our position in said authority as the unified Body of Yeshua, The Father likewise fights our battles, and destroys the secret plans of the fallen kingdom of darkness, overturning the false decrees out of sync with His will, times, and seasons. The verse that best embodies this, and will come to pass this month is Psalm 64:7-9. Read this, think of a similar situation in your life, your nation, and around the globe, and apply it directly.

“They encourage themselves in [their pursuit of] an evil agenda; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, “Who will discover us? They devise acts of injustice, saying, “We are ready with a well-conceived plan.” For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep (mysterious, unsearchable). But God will shoot them with an [unexpected] arrow; Suddenly they will be wounded. So they will be caused to stumble; Their own tongue is against them; All who gaze at them will shake the head [in scorn].

“In Your majesty, ride out to victory, defending truth, humility, and justice. Go forth to perform awe-inspiring deeds! Your arrows are sharp, piercing your enemies’ hearts (COVID). The nations fall beneath your feet.” (Psalm 45:4). The days are shortened and the nights grow longer and the plans of the enemy are reaching a fever pitch, but uncertainty is not our demeanor and fear is not our countenance. We have been given a Spirit of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control] (2 Timothy 1:7). The arrows of the Lord mighty in battles have already gone forth, and He doesn’t miss.

Benjamin

The youngest son of Israel and the only son to be born in the Promised Land, Benjamin was destined by the word of his mother Rachel who died giving birth to him, to be called “Son of my Sorrow.” But that destiny was swiftly changed by Israel his father, and he called him, Benjamin, “Son of my right hand.” What a picture of Yeshua! The fallen kingdom of darkness loves to tell us what our false destiny is, as well as the destinies of our families, cities, and nations. This month we stop giving an ear to such lies and start hearing, repeating, and living the truth according to Adonai.

Another overlooked fact about Benjamin is that out of all of the tribes, Benjamin alone is called the Beloved of Adonai. When Moses prophesied over Benjamin he said, “May the beloved of the Lord dwell in safety by Him; He shields and covers him all the day long, and he dwells between His shoulders” (Deuteronomy 33:12). Now, who is the only person in the New Testament known as the beloved of Yeshua? John, right? No, Lazarus was the one Yeshua loved (John 11:5), and when Yeshua wept before the tomb of Lazarus, even the people exclaimed, “See how He loved him [as a close friend]!” (John 11:35-36). It goes without saying that he was also the one whom Yeshua raised from the dead. Imagine having already been Yeshua’s best friend, then He raises you from the dead! It is interesting also that the one who laid his head upon the bosom of Yeshua (between His shoulders) is also called the beloved of Yeshua, although he is not explicitly named, but assumed to be John as the title of the book is John, however that little detail is for another day. What matters, is that now we are all the beloved of Yeshua! Once destined to die in our sin we are now raised to life through the death and resurrection of Yeshua Ha’Mashiach.

Be prepared and expectant this month to see the verdicts and decrees of the fallen kingdom of darkness overturned for your life, your family, and your nation as the Father’s Word is final, not the world’s. Just as Lazarus’ death seemed finite and a sorrowful occasion, be expectant of resurrection miracles in every area of your life and society that like the resurrection of Lazarus will be used to glorify God (John 11:4).

Month of Trust, Hope, and Foolishness

Kislev comes from the Hebrew root word that means trust or hope, but can also mean foolishness. Believe it or not these words are like a chord of three ends that cannot be easily broken.

Trust

As we remember every answered prayer and miracle done by Adonai in our lives, our trust in Him grows immensely and is the reason why every generation of Israelites is taught the mighty deeds Adonai has done for them throughout their generations. Every person and nation has a story, a “His…tory”, as well as promises yet to be fulfilled by Adonai. Do you TRUST the Great I Am to fulfill His Word no matter how crazy your predicament is? He will do it just as He has done it before.

Hope

Where does your hope lie? Is it in gold and silver? Job tells us, “If I have put my TRUST and confidence in gold, or have declared fine gold my HOPE and assurance… This also would have been [a heinous] sin calling for judgment, for I would have denied God above” (Job 31:24, 28). So often we can find ourselves trying to fix an issue without ever asking the Holy Spirit Who knows the mind of the Father. We then put hope in our own strength and intellect instead of relying on Him. Imagine how that would have worked out when Israel was at the Red Sea, or at Jericho, or with Gideon’s army, and the list goes on and on and on. Where does your hope come from?

Foolishness

As we look back on the events of our lives up to this very moment, it is amazing how despite ourselves the Spirit of God has somehow managed to get us where we are. We want it our way, we have a plan to get there, and if it doesn’t go according to that plan it must not be from Adonai, right? Despite that being the way the vast majority of us tend to live, it’s the polar opposite of who we are in Yeshua and Him in us. We are growing out of that old mindset and into the mindset of Yeshua, “For the wisdom of this world is FOOLISHNESS (absurdity, stupidity) before God; for it is written [in Scripture], “[He is] The One who catches the wise and clever in their craftiness;” and again, “Adonai knows the thoughts of the [humanly] wise, that they are useless” (1 Corinthians 3:19-20). Did you catch that? STUPIDITY, USELESS, is the opposite of useful which means in direct opposition to the wisdom of Elohim. No, weeeee are not saying that if you are humanly wise you’re stupid, but The Father is. The time for looking at ourselves, everyone, and everything according to the world came to an end the day we accepted Yeshua as our Lord and Savior. Our thinking habits of the past before we gave our lives to Adonai might still be dug in, but our identity is no longer the same. So let us be fools to the world, useless, and stupid according to the wisdom of man so that our mindset matches our true and new identity as sons and daughters of the Most High, citizens of heaven walking the way Yeshua walked. Sound difficult? Not to worry Bethren! We have the best teacher in the Universe, the Holy Spirit, and the Written Word of YHWH to figure it all out. Let’s be foolish this month!

9th Month

The number 9 is a very special number in Scripture that symbolizes finality and wholeness. There are 9 gifts of the Spirit and 9 Fruits of the Spirit. Also, contrary to the teaching of many churches there are also 9 Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-11). It was in the 9th hour that Yeshua gave up His Spirit to the Father (Luke 23:44-49). In this 9th month, many things are coming to a head, and even though the enemy feels a victory is at hand, they couldn’t be further from the truth. Now is a time to remain immovable in the promises of the King of glory. Let us live in the wholeness of all that has been given freely through the Blood of Yeshua. In what is considered the darkest month of the year when the plans of the fallen kingdom of darkness look certain to succeed, remember, at the 9th hour when Yeshua died the enemy was rejoicing thinking they had won, not realizing the King of glory had just used them to strike the final blow of their own defeat. Their short-lived celebration was quashed almost immediately when Yeshua showed up in hell to preach the Gospel and take the keys of sin and death. They had sealed their fate with the innocent blood of the Lamb. All glory was given to Adonai in that moment as it was clear the plans of man and the powers of darkness never stood a chance against the Lord of Hosts. Never lose hope, no matter your situation or circumstance, no matter how dire or hopeless things might seem.

The God of Salvation is using even your enemies to bless you and is turning them against one another as we speak. We must never expect things to play out the way we want them to or imagine they will. Joshua and Caleb were not sure how they would crush enemies as great as the giants or breach the massive walls of the many cities, but they knew that if Adonai said He would, then the how didn’t matter, and the end goal would be the same as promised, victory. There are giants in the land these days and many of us are feeling we are in the 9th hour, even entire nations, but Adonai of Hosts never loses, and He is with us, and He has and will never break His promise. Don’t worry about the how, He’s got that covered, but continue to be bold and courageous in the face of what seems like outstanding odds, firm in the fact that the odds are clearly stacked against the enemy who is standing against YHWH, the Creator of heaven and earth. The bigger the obstacle or giant, the greater the miracle and the harder they fall. Get ready to see such miracles in this 9th month Kingdom family!

Conclusion

Trust is faith in action. “Faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed)” (Hebrews 11:1). “The wisdom of the world is Foolishness before Adonai” (1 Corinthians 3:19). All of this is contrary to our former paradigm as citizens of the world, but directly in line with our new identity as citizens of heaven. In this so-called month of darkness, we as the lights of the world are shining brighter than ever for the glory of the Most High. When the world sees impossible, we see another opportunity for the King of kings to be glorified and lifted high. Like Benjamin, we will see the Father turn a curse into a blessing, a prodigal son into the son of His right hand. Just like Lazarus as the beloved of Yeshua, we have not been forgotten, only positioned so that when resurrection miracles happen before those who do not believe, man will take no part in the credit, only Adonai. The arrows of Elohim have already been loosed and the enemy has moved into the crosshairs thinking they have waltzed their way to victory with each step. There are giants in the land, but they didn’t take into account those faithful ones who believe that YHWH is Who He says He is, and never breaks a promise.

It is time to stand as one beloved bride of Yeshua, in the fullness of our collective calling to pave the way for the return of the King of glory. Let this Kislev be a rallying cry to the whole Body of Messiah, that the darkness cannot overcome the light, and the victory has already been won. Let us walk in that victory this 9th month. Let the war cry of the Lion of Judah be released! Adonai bless you and keep you Kingdom Family!
