Ibilin: The Peacemakers

In the north of Israel just east of Haifa and just west of the Sea of Galilee Ibilin has a history that is deserving of remembrance and a destiny that has not yet fully come to pass. Traditionally a place where Christians and Muslims have lived together, this city has lived through the throws of the Crusades and somehow come out of it on peaceful terms between the two religions. Balian, once lord over Ibilin kept the peace and even led the defense of Jerusalem against Salahadin when he attacked the city and eventually won.

He won the respect of Salahadin however and was granted the rights over certain Christian sites in and around Ibilin and Nablus where to this day believers can freely worship. It has stood as a beacon of peace for more than a millennium, but today it is being marked by the Holy Spirit as a place where the Prince of Peace is about to bring an understanding of perfect love that will transcend religious doctrine and see relationship with Him be the purpose so that it will spread throughout Israel. The Gospel of peace will bring all people groups to the understanding of salvation and people who saw themselves as Jews, Muslims, and Christians will see that there is only Way, One Truth, and One Light, Yeshua.

The eighteenth century castle is still in tact at the center of the city and the politics of Israel are a constant eb and flow that threaten to throw off the balance of peace that has lasted for so long there. Ibilin is a centuries old example of selfless people being peacemakers in a land of conflict that has as its heritage a nearly unbeatable posture of heart and character that continues to beat within its citizens. If the hearts of the people of Ibilin are won for Yeshua, the fallen kingdom of darkness will be frightened to say the least. Almost completely made up of Arab Muslims and Christians, Ibilin is a beacon and a target in the midst of Israel to provoke the Jews to jealousy. As the Gospel returns from the ends of the earth back through Judea and Samaria, Ibilin is on the way back to Jerusalem.

It is a small city, but its destiny in the Most High is far beyond its population. The time has come when the prayers of the saints around the world is reaching its quota, and the King of kings is pushing the yes button for Ibilin. Let us stand together in the oneness of the Holy Spirit praying for the salvation of Ibilin and the destiny of Adonai for the courageous and righteous ones living there now. Adonai bless you and keep you!
