Pray for Haifa

Haifa

Last week we prayed for the salvation of Shechem (Nablus), but this week as we continue praying for the salvation of Israel we head north to a very famous city where idolatry was struck down in an epic and awe inspiring way. The city of Haifa, at the centre of which is Mount Carmel is where the great stand off between Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets of Ashera and Baal who were promptly executed by the sword after the God of Israel was proven to be the One True God Who answered with fire from heaven. Ironically today, Haifa is the home to the headquarters and main temple of the Bah’ai faith which is 5 million strong world wide and teaches the essential worth of all religions and the unity of all people.

Essentially it is a cultist movement whose founder known as the Bab, who believed himself to be an Elijah or John the Baptist figure that was paving the way for a messiah-like figure and after his death, his sons followed in his footsteps until today where the religion has shifted to a more board run system. The Bab’s burial place is on Mount Carmel where he is revered.

Haifa is also a port city, the largest port of the 3 major international seaports in Israel, a place that is constantly trying to be controlled by other nations, especially China. This makes Haifa a gateway into Israel, not only physically, but spiritually as well that holds a large sway over northern Israel in both aspects. There is a 14% population of believers as well as 82% Israeli Jewish population, and other minorities like the Bah’ais spoken of earlier.

As we pray for the salvation of Haifa, we have to understand that it is a place of contestation, a high place where the fallen kingdom of darkness is keen to take control. However, there is an established Spirit filled remnant in Haifa that is dug in and actively taking ground and winning souls to salvation, but not even close to the full plans Adonai has for the city. We pray for the gatekeepers and the watchmen in Haifa who are praying constantly for the blueprint of Adonai to be fulfilled to be strengthened and multiplied. We also pray for the salvation not only all of the Jewish people in Haifa, but also for those in the minority faiths like the Bahai. Lastly, as Haifa is a battle ground, we pray for signs and wonders to follow the believers living in Haifa to operate in the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit for the glory of Adonai and to bring in a massive harvest that moves from the High place of Mount Carmel into the valleys and plains and into the rest of Israel. We pray that just as the miracle of Elijah spread throughout all of Israel causing the masses to worship YHWH, that the miracles sign and wonders done in the name of Yeshua Ha’Mashiach would do the same.
