We have entered a month of uncertain times in the world, but not so uncertain for the sons and daughters of God. For the first time since the holocaust, nations around the world, even those considered allies to Israel are doing an about face when it comes to supporting the Jewish people. Iyar falls between the month of redemption (Nissan) and the month of Revelation (Sivan), but it is also the month that bridges the gap between Pesach (Passover) which was the Exodus of Israel from Egypt and the death and resurrection of Yeshua, as well as Moses receiving the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai and the disciples of Yeshua receiving the Holy Spirit in the upper room in Zion.

This is the month when Yeshua in His resurrected body showed Himself to, spoke with, and fellowshiped with the disciples and many others. In this Biblical month of Iyar we have incredible parallels with what happened throughout scripture and a divine blueprint that will guide us as we move forward. As we prayed regarding this new month an open vision was had of an eagle landing before us delivering a message, not only for this month, but for the season still to come. The message was clear; Preparation, transformation and activation into a new stage of who God has called us to be as individuals and as the bride of Yeshua. It is an open invitation from the King of kings that if taken seriously will catapult us into our destiny in God, or pass us by while the times and seasons of God continue while we remain stagnant and comfortable where we are. Iyar is an invitation for exploration into fulfilling God’s will and stepping out in greater faith and hunger for the fulfillment of God’s promises over your life, family, Kehilah, business, city and nation. Consider your invitation from Adonai officially delivered if you have not already received it.

Wilderness of Revelation, Faith, and Rest

This month marks the time between the poisoned waters of Marah being made clean in the desert (Exodus 15:22-25) and God showing up to speak with Israel on Mount Sinai. This is the time when God provided manna and meat in the desert every day except the 7th day (Exodus 16). This month God taught Israel that He alone is their provider and how to rest, as well as when Yeshua teaching His disciples about Himself through the Word of God (Luke 24:13-35) and instructed them to wait for the Holy Spirit to come on the day of Shavuot (Pentecost). Are you ready to receive? Are you ready to be a sponge for the new life and new reality God has for you since your exodus from the system of slavery in Egypt, and the deceptive shackles of religiosity, the likes of which kept the majority of Israel from receiving Yeshua as Messiah?

Get ready to go to another level of trust, faith and intimacy with the King of kings. Expect to be pleasantly and supernaturally surprised this Iyar like the women who arrived to find Yeshua’s tomb empty (John 20:1-18), like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus escorted by Yeshua Himself (Luke 13:24-25), and like Thomas who touched the very holes in Yeshua’s hands and side after He walked through the locked door (John 20:24-29). Allow the supernatural to become your natural as you are no longer citizens of your country, but of heaven, born from above (John 2:23-3:10), an alien living in this world but not of it. Too radical? Or are you too comfortable? Get ready for more shaking and transformation this Iyar.

New Realization and the Bridegroom

During Iyar Adonai reveals Himself differently 4 separate times to Israel as YHWH RAPHA (The Lord Who Heals You), YHWH YIR’EI(The Lord Our Provider), YHWH ROHI (The Lord Our Shepherd), and YHWH NISSI (The Lord Our Banner). Each time, Adonai is proving Himself to His would be bride that He can take care of her and nurture her unlike any other false god that they had before them in Egypt. He is walking Israel down the aisle so to speak and just like before a traditional Jewish wedding the Katubah (wedding vows) are being written and in this case proven to be true.

Yeshua is reminding us of His wedding vows to His bride over our lives this month, asking if we remember all that He has done, but also reminding us of the great promises that are still to come. This month, Yeshua is shattering false thinking, unraveling misleading paradigms, and tearing down the veils of deception over your life! He is revealing Himself to you in ways He never has before, and the enemy is terrified of your new understanding. May the veil of deception fall across the globe and in Israel for such a time as this and the bride of Yeshua rise.

Iyar is associated with the tribe of Issachar, and there was something very special about the tribe of Issachar that none of the other tribes could emulate. It was a gift that all of us should have the desire to operate in. 1 Chronicles 12:32 tells us that the tribe of Issachar were men who had an understanding of the times, and what Israel should do. Wouldn’t it be great to understand the times we are living in according to the books of heaven, and to know what God wants us to do? The good news is that this same level of discernment of the times is available to every Believer. What made Issachar so adept at understanding the times and the seasons unlike any of the other tribes? The answer lies in part in Deuteronomy 33:18-19 that says, “Rejoice, Zebulun, as you go forth, and you, Issachar, in your tents. They will summon peoples to the mountain (Carmel), and there offer righteous sacrifices; for they will draw from the abundance of the seas, and from the hidden treasures of the sand.”

Issachar spent times in their tents contemplating and meditating on the Word of God, and on the mountain tops worshipping Adonai. It was their full time calling to be in constant communication with God, receiving new revelation and understanding regarding the times and seasons, as well as working hand in hand with the other tribes. Notice the sacrifices given on the mountain tops were not superficial or religious in nature, but righteous, meaning their worship was done in Spirit and in Truth with pure hearts that was received in the throne room of Heaven as sweet incense. We are being called in such a way not strive in a religious way, but out of true love in our worship and adoration of Adonai and in doing so receiving the blueprint of heaven, the heart of the Father for here and now.

Counting of the Omer

It is crucial that we remember the counting of the Omer that takes place during every day of this month, unlike any other month during the year. The counting of the Omer started on the second day of Pesach (Passover) and ends the day before Shavuot, Pentecost (June 11) completing 7 weeks or 49 days. The first day marks the beginning of the Barley Harvest, when a sheaf or bundle of barley was brought before the temple as a waive offering before the Lord. As Believers, we must also understand that it was directly after His crucifixion that this counting of the Omer begins. Coincidence? It was during the following days of the counting of the Omer that Yeshua appeared for 40 days before ascending to heaven.

It was during these 40 days that many mysteries of the Kingdom were revealed to the disciples and told to wait in Jerusalem for the coming of the Holy Spirit that was promised by the Father (Acts 1). It is time for us to spend time at the feet of Yeshua, to have our heads on His chest like John, to be in the throne room of the King, receiving instructions and new revelation for this season from on High, preparing for the day of Shavuot (Pentecost). Abba, help us to hear your voice clearly, to see you even as the disciples saw you and touched you when you appeared to them during those forty days. Bring us together in oneness as the men and women of the upper room in one accord, pressing in with expectation for that which has been promised by You.

The Ox/Donkey is represented in the stars this month above Israel. Both are considered beasts of burden that carry heavy weight and doing work a man is incapable of carrying and doing. The Ox plows the ground and is used to thresh the grain from the wheat, while the donkey carries heavy weight for long distances for its master. In the world’s eye, these beasts of burden have little appeal, but in the Word of God they are held in high esteem. In Revelation 4:7 we see that the one of the four living creatures was like an Ox, and Proverbs 14:4 reminds us that much revenue comes from the strength of the Ox. The Apostle Paul even likens himself to an Ox in 1 Corinthians 9, and it is the Ox that we see in the Old Testament which was seen as a fitting sacrifice unto the Lord. Are you like the Ox that is before the throne of God day and night? Are you plowing the ground as a messenger of the Gospel of Peace and with much revenue stored up in the heavenly places (Matthew 6:19-21)?

Are you ready to be a Donkey of the Kingdom? If you have ever been called a donkey (ass) in your life you may not have responded politely, but in Scripture, the Donkey is far more than a simple beast of burden. Often seen as a stubborn, stupid, and prideful, nothing could be further from the truth. The donkey seems stubborn and stupid to those trying to get it to move, but the reality is that the Donkey only moves at the command of its master. What the world sees as pride, is actually humility and obedience answering only the call of its master. Are we as the Body of Yeshua responding to the commands and demands of the world or our heavenly Father? Are we humble before the feet of Yeshua or prostrate before the feet of public opinion. Who’s voice are we hearing and who’s voice do we obey? We see also that it was atop a colt and a Donkey that Yeshua rode on his triumphal entrance into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1-9). It was a Donkey that carried Yeshua, the incarnate glory of God, the Son of God, into Zion. As sons and daughters of God we are meant to be carriers of the presence of the Lord of Hosts. So the question is, are you being a Donkey Believer this Iyar? In this season it is time to transition from being just sheep of the Kingdom of God, to Oxen and Donkeys of the Kingdom spreading the Gospel of Peace in the manifest Power of the Holy Spirit for the Glory of God.

Gate Keepers

In these days preceding the month of Iyar, the Holy Spirit has prompted us to pray for the gate keepers and watchmen of Israel. Certain mountains both physical and metaphorical have been highlighted as gates of power and influence for both good and evil, some to declare the tearing down of evil altars of influence, and others to pray for a build up of faith, courage, and healing to step into this new season in the victory of Yeshua. But this is not only for Israel, but every nation, tribe and tongue. Pray for and encourage those who you see tend to be the ones giving prayer, counsel, prophecy, and intercede regularly. Pray for them in this season, but also don’t forget to join them. We are all in this together in the oneness of the same Holy Spirit. The lost, weary and deceived are counting on our prayers and interjection in opposition to the great deceiver satan who wishes many more souls to join him in hell. Entire regions, countries, cities, families, and the lost 1% need the gatekeepers and watchmen to arise to see the blindfold of deception removed en mass and the yoke of burden to be removed.

The angel armies of YHWH are waiting for the sons and daughters of God to agree with and declare and decree that which has already been bound and loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19) in order for the hosts of heaven to be dispatched. It is time to align with the books of heaven for this time, to partner with the angel armies and the will of Adonai from the victory of Yeshua and by the leading of the Holy Spirit. The call has gone forth, the eagle has landed and delivered the message. Receive it, or don’t, but know that God is speaking to you now, even if that just means just taking one small step because doing so will create ripples of blessing across the globe for the Kingdom of God and so many more to know the freedom in Yeshua that you know and have, and the perfect love of the Father that is indescribable, as well as the counsel, guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Just one small step and then another. Adonai bless you and keep you!

These are the coming holidays in Israel, all of which play an important role in all that is happening in Israel and regarding the uptick of anti-semitism around the world. Please take these days to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the salvation of Israel. “And I will bless (do good for, benefit) those who bless you, and I will curse [that is, subject to My wrath and judgment] the one who curses (despises, dishonors, has contempt for) you and in you all the families (nations) of the earth will be blessed” (Genesis 12:3).
