AV 5787: HEAR THE FATHER AND ARISE

We have entered the biblical month of Av, the fifth month of the biblical calendar. In Scripture, 影音 is primarily called “the fifth month,” and its name is closely associated with the Hebrew word av, meaning father. This is, therefore, a month to draw near to the heart of Abba, to silence the competing voices around us, and to hear clearly what the Father is saying.

影音 is traditionally remembered as one of the most difficult months in biblical history. The first nine days lead toward Tisha B’Av, the ninth day of Av, which has just passed here in Israel, when Israel mourns the destruction of both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. It also recalls the report of the spies and the unbelief of the generation that refused to enter the Promised Land.

Yet 影音 cannot be understood only as a month of mourning. It is also a month of repentance, comfort, rebuilding, restored identity, and courageous faith. The Father does not expose what is broken to condemn us—He exposes it so that it can be healed, purified, and restored.

Zechariah prophesied that the fast of the fifth month would one day become a season of joy, gladness, and cheerful feasts for the house of Judah, but he concluded with a clear instruction: “Therefore love truth and peace” (Zechariah 8:19).

This is the invitation of Av: remember the past without being imprisoned by it, learn from what was destroyed, and allow the Father to build something new within us.

FROM MOURNING TO RESTORATION

The Three Weeks of Sorrow begin on the seventeenth of Tammuz and culminate on the ninth of Av. This period remembers the breaching of Jerusalem’s walls and the destruction of the Temples.

These events are not only historical—they are a warning. What was built was destroyed only after obedience, justice, humility, and covenant faithfulness had already been weakened.

The prophets warned Jerusalem repeatedly, yet the people continued as though nothing would happen:

“Again and again the LORD, the God of their ancestors, sent word to them through His messengers… But they mocked God’s messengers, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against His people and there was no remedy.”
(2 Chronicles 36:15–16)

The tragedy was not silence from Heaven—the tragedy was the refusal to listen.

影音 calls us to examine our own temples. As believers in Yeshua, we are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). The question is not only what happened to the Temple in Jerusalem, but what is happening within the temple of our hearts.

We must ask honestly:
• What has been given space that belongs to the Holy Spirit?
• Have pride, fear, offense, compromise, or distraction taken residence within us?
• Have we become so accustomed to the noise of the world that we no longer recognize the voice of the Father?

Yeshua still enters His temple. He still overturns what does not belong. He still cleanses what is His. His correction is not rejection—it is love refusing to leave us unchanged.

This month, we must invite Him in without resistance:
• Remove every hidden idol
• Tear down every false agreement
• Silence every competing voice
• Restore the altar of worship within us

THE FIRST DAY OF AV: AARON’S TRANSITION

Scripture records that Aaron, the high priest, died on Mount Hor on the first day of the fifth month:

“Then Aaron the priest went up to Mount Hor at the command of the LORD and died there… on the first day of the fifth month.”
(Numbers 33:38)

Aaron’s death marked an ending—but not the end of God’s purpose. His garments were transferred to Eleazar, showing that Heaven continues even when seasons change.

Av teaches us this clearly: what ends in one season does not end God’s assignment.

We must learn to release what cannot be carried into the next season:
• Old garments
• Former assignments
• Familiar structures
• Outgrown ways of operating

At the same time, we must honor what was without clinging to it and step boldly into what is coming.

This is also a call to intercession for leadership.

We must cover those entrusted with spiritual responsibility. This is not a time for division, accusation, or competition, but for humility, unity, and maturity.

We must refuse offense. We must reject bitterness. We must guard the unity of the Body.

The Father is forming a priesthood that serves from:
• intimacy, not ambition
• 服从, not recognition
• 爱, not a personal agenda

THE TRIBE OF AV: SIMEON—HEAR AND OBEY

The tribe associated with Av is Simeon, whose name is rooted in hearing.
“Because the LORD heard that I am not loved…”
(Genesis 29:33)

Av is a month of hearing—but not passive hearing. Biblical hearing demands a response.
To hear the Father is to obey the Father.

We must be honest:
• Hearing without obedience is deception
• Conviction without change is delay
• Delay can become disobedience

Jerusalem heard but did not respond. Nineveh heard and repented:
“The Ninevites believed God… and put on sackcloth.”
(Jonah 3:5)

The difference was not God’s voice—the difference was their response.

This month, we must decide quickly:
• When God speaks, we obey
• When conviction comes, we respond
• When correction comes, we yield

We must also guard our emotions. Simeon’s history warns us that unresolved anger can distort destiny. Pain that is not surrendered can become destructive.

We must ask:
• Am I responding from peace or from pain?
• Am I reacting from wounds or from the Spirit?

“Human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”
(James 1:20)

Action for this month:
• Pause before reacting
• Pray before responding
• Yield before deciding

FROM THE REPORT OF FEAR TO THE LANGUAGE OF FAITH

The ninth of 影音 is tied to the report of the spies. All saw the same land—but only two saw through faith.

The problem was not the giants. The problem was interpretation.
“We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes…”
(Numbers 13:33)

Before defeat happened in reality, it had already been accepted in their identity.

Av confronts this directly:
You are not a grasshopper. You are not your fear. You are not your limitation.

You are:
• a child of God
• redeemed by Yeshua
• filled with the Holy Spirit

Joshua and Caleb did not deny the giants—they declared that God was greater.

“If the LORD delights in us, He will bring us into this land…”
(Numbers 14:8–9)

Action for this month:
• Reject fear-based interpretation
• Refuse negative agreement
• Speak only what aligns with God’s promise

FROM A DESTROYED TEMPLE TO LIVING STONES

Yeshua declared:
“毁了这座神殿，我三日内再将它重建起来。”
He was speaking of His body (John 2:18–21).

What looked like destruction became resurrection.
We are not abandoned ruins—we are living stones:
“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house…”
(1 Peter 2:5)

This means:
• We are being built together
• We are not meant to stand alone
• We must allow God to shape us to fit one another

Action for this month:
• Release isolation
• Pursue unity
• Choose forgiveness quickly
• Stay connected to the Body

SEVEN WEEKS OF COMFORT

“Comfort, comfort My people…”
(Isaiah 40:1)
Comfort is not weakness—it is strength restored.
God comforts us so that we can rise again and strengthen others:
“He comforts us… so that we can comfort those…”
(2 Corinthians 1:3–4)

Action for this month:
• Receive God’s comfort personally
• Refuse to stay in grief
• Become a source of encouragement to others

THE LETTER TET: HIDDEN GOODNESS

“God saw that the light was good…”
(Genesis 1:4)
Even when it is hidden, God is still good.

Joseph declared:
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”
(Genesis 50:20)

Action for this month:
• Stop declaring the story too early
• Trust God in hidden seasons
• Look again for His goodness

THE LION OF AV: RECOGNIZE THE TRUE ROAR

The Lion of Judah has triumphed (Revelation 5:5).
The enemy only imitates.

Action for this month:
• Reject fear-based voices
• Strengthen worship and prayer
• Stay anchored in Scripture
• Listen for the Shepherd’s voice above all

THE FATHER OVER MANY WATERS

“The voice of the LORD is over the waters…”
(Psalm 29:3)
God is above every storm.
“The river of the water of life…”
(Revelation 22:1)

Breakthrough flows from His throne—not from struggle.

Action for this month:
• Stop striving in your own strength
• Surrender areas of blockage
• Let God’s river flow again

MESSAGE FOR THE MONTH OF AV

This is a month to:
• Hear quickly
• Obey immediately
• Forgive fully
• Release fear completely
• Walk in unity
• Rise in faith

Do not stay where you are.
“Rise and walk” (Acts 3:6).

Declaration:
• I will hear the Father
• I will obey without delay
• I will not agree with fear
• I will not remain stuck
• I will rise in Yeshua’s authority

We will not repeat the wilderness mindset. We will believe God’s report and move forward..

PRAYER AND DECLARATION

Abba Father, in this month of Av, bring us into deep obedience. Silence every voice that is not Yours. Make Your voice unmistakably clear.

Cleanse our hearts. Remove pride, fear, offense, and every hidden compromise. Make us quick to repent and quick to obey.

We reject the report of fear. We choose Your promise. We choose Your truth. We choose Your voice above all others.

Heal what is broken within us. Restore what has been damaged. Strengthen what is weak.

Unite Your people. Break division. Remove offense. Make us one in Yeshua.

Let us rise from every place of spiritual paralysis. Let us walk in obedience, clarity, and courage.

We declare: Yeshua is Lord. Fear is broken. Faith is alive. The Father is speaking—and we will obey.
