Today is the 10th of Iyar, 5778th year in the Hebrew Calendar, or April 25th on the Gregorian Calendar.  It is the 18th day of the Counting of the Omer, which is the 49 day period of time leading up to Shavuot (Pentecost) on the 50th day,  (Leviticus ‪23:15-16‬).  An Omer is a tenth of an ephah, which is a dry grain measuring system that is equal to about 3.6 liters today.  How can we be an Omer, an offering that is accepted by God? When we have humble hearts (Psalm 51:17). Also, one Omer of wheat or barley is bundled together into what is called a “sheaf” which is bundled together on the day after Pessaj (Passover) which is waved as an offering by the priest before the Lord (Leviticus 23:11).  How can we be a sheaf offering for the Lord?  When we come together in unity as a “sheaf” of first fruits and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, being one mind and one spirit like the 120 did leading up to, and on the day of Pentecost.

This time is so important because during the first week of the Counting of the Omer was when the walls of Jericho fell down after Israel came into the promised land for the first time on the 23rd of the month of Nisan, or Sunday, April 8th.   Just as Israel marched as one and shouted as one in following God’s instruction, it is time for us to do the same, knowing that victory is certain when we do as God commands. Now we have reached the third week leading up to the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost), and it is essential that we understand the significance of this in these present times.  It was during the Counting of the Omer that Yeshua appeared to His disciples, and many others after His resurrection, speaking to them regarding the Kingdom of Heaven (Acts 1:3) which should make us reflect on the true significance of this current season. Jesus is alive and very much real, just as He showed Thomas when He had him touch the nail marks in the palms of His hands and the hole in His side (John 20:27).  He is just as real today as He was on that day with Thomas.  On the 40th day of the Counting of the Omer after His resurrection, Yeshua ascended to heaven, and had the disciples not listened to the instructions of the Lord to stay in Jerusalem, they would have missed the appointed time to receive power from on high (Luke 24:49).  In Pessaj we received the blood of Yeshua on the doorposts of our hearts, but during this next 49 days (Omer) He says to tarry until the 50th day (Shavuot).

The second week of the Omer was also very important, because it included the 70th anniversary of the nation of Israel, and this event accelerated as never before the fulfillment of the Biblical prophecy for the end times.  It was a key week, because it closed a prophetic cycle (70 years = 1 generation Matthew 24:34).  It also opened a new dimensional gate in the eternal times, that has started a new hour in the prophetic clock of God (Jerusalem).  These are days to live in complete spiritual alignment in order to receive the healing, restoration, and restitution through the power of the blood and resurrection of Yeshua Ha’Mashiah, so that we can continue on the right path leading us to the spiritual Mount Sinai (Shavuot) where we will receive divine instructions, and a new fresh manifestation of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Hallelujah!
