This week\u2019s Parashah is mind blowing<\/strong> in its depth and perfect parallels from the Old Testament that come to perfect fruition in the New Testament through Yeshua, His Ascension,<\/em><\/strong> and the giving of the Holy Spirit. As the sun went down on May 6th it marked the day that Yeshua ascended to heaven to the right hand of the Father<\/em>, and this current week we are in would be part of the ten days Yeshua told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were clothed in power from on High, i.e. the Holy Spirit. Let\u2019s explore the unbelievable perfection that Scripture announces starting in the Old Testament with Leviticus 25:1-26:2.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\n\t

The Shmita And The Jubilee<\/h4>\n

In this passage we are told about the importance of the Shmita or Sabbatical year, or year of rest.<\/em><\/strong> Just like on the 7th day there is a shabbat, so too on the 7th year Adonai commanded that there be a Shabbat for the land<\/strong> when farmers did not plant or reap crops and all that grew in that year was for the animals and anyone who needed it. Adonai promised to give those who fulfilled this commandment a triple portion<\/strong> to sustain them comfortably until the next available harvest. Also, during the Shmita year, all debts were forgiven.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This passage then speaks about the Jubilee year<\/strong>, which occurs after 7 Shmita years<\/strong> (49 Years)<\/em>, and is celebrated on the 50th year, when along with the land resting and debts being forgiven, land was also restored back to its former owners and all slaves were freed.<\/em><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Yeshua Brings The Word<\/h4>\n

So how can this possibly be a foreshadowing of what was to come in the New Testament? In Luke 4:16-21 Yeshua goes home to Nazareth and reads from the scroll<\/strong><\/em> in the Synagogue where it is written,<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Spirit of the Lord is upon Me (the Messiah), because He has anointed Me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent Me to announce release (pardon, forgiveness) to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed (downtrodden, bruised, crushed by tragedy), to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the favor of God abound greatly].\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Then He rolled up the scroll [having stopped in the middle of the verse], gave it back to the attendant and sat down [to teach]; and the eyes of all those in the synagogue were [attentively] fixed on Him. He began speaking to them: \u201cToday this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing and in your presence.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

If you didn\u2019t catch it, every promise included in the Shmita and Jubilee years were prophesying and were a foreshadowing of what Yeshua was bringing to us through His sacrifice, resurrection, and ascension.<\/strong><\/em> Imagine being one sitting there with Yeshua and receiving that revelation in the moment!<\/p>\n

Your land, your inheritance is being restored,<\/strong> spiritual inheritance as a son and daughter of God .
\nDebts (sins) forgiven.<\/em>
\nNo longer slaves to sin and death.<\/em><\/strong>
\nA reset to the garden of Eden when man was separated from God.<\/p>\n

This brings us to a sequential prophetic journey through the New Testament that brings us to the time we are in now, namely the New Covenant, but also the 10 day waiting period before Shavuot (Pentecost)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\n\t
