The story of the resurrection and great success of Israel in the face of unprecedented odds is both miraculous and fascinating.  To know how after 2,000 years the Jewish people from all corners of the globe came back to their homeland after having said every year of that 2 millennium exile, “Next year in Jerusalem” is one of the greatest stories of all time.  These events both now and to come are in many cases a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy and are worth noting as they reveal more clearly the times we are in according to the Biblical timetable in the run up to the 7 years of Tribulation.  The fact that Israel is hated is nothing new both now and in history, and even the legal status of Israel belonging to the Jewish people has been in many places vehemently denied, but the conveniently forgotten San Remo Summit remedies any doubt that Israel is not only the Biblical homeland of the Jewish people, but also legal under international law.  We have created a timeline of events celebrating this forgotten truth on the 100th anniversary of that summit, as well as recent milestone events and a list of many of the achievements of the State of Israel since its Independence.  We must spread the word to the nay sayers and Anti-Israel activists that Israel has a right both Biblically and legally to exist, and address the unparalleled speed with which Israel has gone from nothing to the 8th most powerful country in the world in 72 years, but also understand based on these events and achievements just how close we are to the starting of the clock of Tribulation.

So may people know about the Historic and pivotal Balfour Declaration that was a declaration issued on November 2, 1917 by Great Britain in favor of a Jewish national home in Palestine. It was initially in the form of a letter sent in March 1916 by the British statesman Arthur James Balfour. The letter expressed the British government’s support for “the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people”. However, as so many like to point out the Balfour declaration was not internationally legally binding.

Many people have forgotten the San Remo Summit where the League of Nations, the international governing body before WWII, gathered in the tiny coastal town of San Remo, Italy to decide what would be done about the land of the defeated Ottoman Empire.  When bringing up the Balfour Declaration, which had until that point been a sole British venture, their were no objections to it at all by the Arab delegates, as they saw it a fair trade that they would have 22 Independent Arab States and the Jewish people would have 1 tiny independent state of their own even going so far as to welcome the Jews who would bring vast wealth from Europe and America, the best scientist, and would turn arid Palestine into a garden.  This was formalized in the Weizmann-Feisal agreement which led to the League of Nations recognizing the Land of Israel (then Palestine) as the homeland of the Jewish people. If that wasn’t enough, on July 24, 1922, fifty one member countries of the League of Nations, all of them, unanimously declared:

“Whereas recognition has been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country.”

In the last meeting of the League of Nations before being dissolved to be replaced by the United Nations after WWII, a resolution was adopted to carry over all mandates and agreements made during the existence of the League of Nations to the new international legal body the United Nations.  This was later re-affirmed in chapter 12, Article 80 of the United Nations Charter.

It was in the same year in the Liguria Province of Italy, the same Province as San Remo, at the Port of La Spezia that the Jews who survived the Holocaust sailed to the soon to be Independent State of Israel.

Celebrated this year (2020) on April 28th is the celebration and commemoration of David Ben-Gurion signing the Declaration of Israeli Independence.

Isaiah 66:8

“Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things?

Can a land be born in one day?

Or can a nation be brought forth in a moment?

As soon as Zion was in labor, she also brought forth her sons.

At the end of the Six Day War, the Israel Defense Force re-unified Jerusalem into the State of Israel for the first time since the Exile and destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans 2000 years earlier.

Exactly 70 years to the day of the Declaration of the Independence of Israel, the United States moved its embassy to Jerusalem, a declaration that Jerusalem is the eternal Capitol of the Jewish people.

To fulfill the word of Jeremiah 25:11, 29:10, after 70 years of exile in the first year of King Cyrus’ reign, he officially ends the exile of the Jewish People and sends all of the articles stolen from the First Temple back to Jerusalem, and gave the Jews all of the money and resources needed for its rebuilding (Ezra 1:1-4).  Whatever your political persuasion might be, President Trump’s moving the embassy to Jerusalem is akin to what King Cyrus on the 70th year of Israel’s exile, except this time it marked 70 years of Israel’s Independence.

Under the joint government of Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz, and once more with the support and recognition of the United States, the annexation of Judea and Samaria will go through.  The implications of the annexation both in the natural and in the spirit are far-reaching, and the timing of said annexation which will be voted on as early as ‪July 1st‬ is impeccable.  Having just celebrated the first-ever global Pesach, whether voluntary or not, and as we are approaching Shavuot ‪on May 28th‬, Judea and Samaria become a key.  In the Biblical timeline, we see how great an importance Yeshua placed on Samaria in particular, and it was not for any random reason.  Within Samaria is where Abraham bought the land of Shechem (Modern day Nablus), where the well of Jacob still stands, and where the Tomb of Joseph where his bones that were carried out of Egypt by Moses were buried upon Israel entering the promised land. It was the first Capitol of Israel, and it was at Jacob’s well that Yeshua met the Samaritan woman and officially began His ministry.   “He left Judea and returned again to Galilee.  Now He had to go through Samaria. So He arrived at a Samaritan town called Sychar, near the tract of land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph; and Jacob’s well was there. So Jesus, tired as He was from His journey, sat down by the well” (John 4:3-6). In the very last sentence spoken to the disciples, Yeshua told them, “But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

Judea and Samaria were spiritual gates through which the Gospel of Peace continued on to the rest of the world, and they are about to swing wide once more for it to return in the power of the Kingdom.  The fulfillment of Ezekiel 36 is getting closer and closer, and we are about to enter into Romans 11:26.  The annexation of Judea and Samaria is a sign of the times, right after Shavuot (Pentecost) of all times, just as it happened in Israel 2,000 plus years ago.  If you are looking for a sign this is one to watch as also Jeremiah 31:1-6 is coming quickly to fruition.

“Again I will build you and you will be rebuilt,

O Virgin Israel!

You will again be adorned with your tambourines and timbrels

And go out to the dances of those who celebrate.

“Again you will plant vineyards

On the mountains of Samaria;

The planters will plant

And enjoy the [abundant] fruit [in peace].

“For there will be a day when the watchmen

On the hills of Ephraim (Samaria) cry out,

‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion,

To the Lord our God.’”

The 100 year anniversary of the San Remo gathering helps us take stock of the great events of the past that were foundational to the re-establishment of Israel, but we must also take stock of some of the achievements and milestones in the different spheres of society within Israel today to understand just how much Adonai has blessed Israel and how Israel has been a blessing to the world.  After 72 years of Statehood, Israel is ranked as the 8th strongest country in the world.

In case you were not aware there are currently Messianic Jews preaching the Gospel of Peace on the streets of Israel, and many people, both Jews and Arabs are receiving salvation.  This is the beginning of the fulfillment of what Paul said in Romans 11:25-26 and much sooner than later what Yeshua said to the Pharisees telling him to leave, “And I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed [to be celebrated with praise] is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”  Baruch Haba B’Shem Adonai!  The King is coming.

Israel is ranked as the 3rd most intelligent and educated country in the world, has the highest number of engineers and scientists per capita. (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and boasts a literacy level of 97.8% of citizens above the age of 15 (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Israel also ranks #2 among top 10 countries for scientific research, based on the number of scientific research papers released, the number of patents registered, the percentage of GDP spent on R&D, and the number of researchers per 1,000 people.

For the first time in Israel’s history, starting this year, May 2020, there is a Believing TV channel called Shelanu TV airing on Israeli cable for all of Israel to hear the Gospel in Hebrew to know Yeshua is the Messiah.  They have a 7-year contract, 7 very important years we have to gird up our loins and gather in the harvest.

Israel ranks 22 on the latest report of the UN’s Human Development Index, which places it in the category of “Very Highly Developed”, allowing the country to enjoy a higher standard of living than many other Western countries. The prosperity of Israel’s advanced economy allows the country to have a sophisticated welfare state, a modern infrastructure, and a high-technology sector competitively on par with Silicon Valley. Israel also has the highest number of startups per capita in the world. (2018 Global Startup Ecosystem Report)

Israel has the lowest rate of diet-related deaths in the world (Global Burden of Disease Study, Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation), ranks fifth in the world for healthy longevity, and 11th in the world for overall happiness. (2018 United Nations World Happiness Report) Israel ranks 10th on the 2019 Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index. 88.6% of Israelis say they are pleased with their lives (Central Bureau of Statistics), 85% of Israelis over the age of 20 feel safe walking alone in the dark in their residential area. (Central Bureau of Statistics)

In 1948, about 2% of Israel was covered in trees. Now it’s up to around 8.5%. Since its establishment in 1901, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) has planted more than 240 million trees in Israel.  Israel is one of the only countries in the world that ended the 20th century with more trees than it had at the start. (KKL-JNF).

As small as Israel is and despite its low population of 9,190,000, it is regarded as the 18th most powerful army in the world, time and time again being faced with overwhelming odds in the face of stronger and larger armies.  In the war of Independence (1947-1949), Israel defeated the invading armies of Egypt, Iraq, Transjordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Holy War ARMY, and the ALA.  In the Six-Day War (1967), Israel once again defeated the invading forces of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq. In the Yom Kippur War (1973) Israel defeated the invading forces of Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Algeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, and North Korea.  Since then Israel has fought nearly continuous wars both large and small and continues to be surrounded by enemies both outside and inside whose purpose is none other than to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.  Hezbollah to the North, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad to the south, as well as resurgent pockets of ISIS and other proxies of Iran with the Iranian army also stationed on the border with Israel in Syria.  Regardless of constant threat and ceaseless enemies, Israel has been victorious, and while we commend the bravery and prowess of the IDF (Israeli Defense Force), ultimately the Hand of the Almighty has been protecting Israel until they will say Baruch Haba B’Shem Adonai.

Please continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the salvation of Israel, and stay tuned for more signs of the times posts as we keep track of major events bringing about the fulfillment of Bible prophecy here in Jerusalem, Israel and around the world.  God bless you and keep you Kingdom Family!
