From Palu, we flew first in transit to the city of Luwuk, the Capitol city of Central Sulawesi, located directly to the east of Palu at the far end of the Peninsula. It was once part of an ancient kingdom, and as we prayed there, it was like a continuation of the Word going forth from Palu: The Gate of Authority. We arrived safely in Manado not long after where we rested for the night. As the next day began we all gathered together for a time of prayer and discernment regarding what Adonai wanted to do that day in Manado. The very first thing that was brought to our attention by one of the sisters, who happened to be from Manado, was that two days earlier a student had stabbed his teacher, a priest, to death at a school nearby. The teenage student was drunk at the time and did it in full view of all of the other students when the school day ended. We understood that this was a sign of the iniquity of Manado and a separation of the generations. Part of the iniquity of Manado comes from the past colonization of the city by the Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch at different times, who took advantage of its rich soil and natural resources. As such, we felt to repent as a group for the sins of the Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch for any and all sins committed by them in the past. As we continued to pray, a brother had a vision of the enemy closing the blinds, causing the room to go dark. The interpretation of the vision was that the fallen kingdom of darkness had covered the eyes of the people of Manado, drawing a false curtain between generations, keeping them blind to Abba’s presence and will. We declared that by the blood of Yeshua the false curtain of the enemy be torn as it is by the blood of the lamb that the curtain separating us from the Holy of Holies was torn (Matthew 27:51), allowing us to enter. We prayed that the Malachi 4:5-6 generation would be restored in Manado and for the Mantle of Elijah to cover the city. Before exiting the time of prayer, we received Matthew 10:34 for the city, that says:
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace on the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword [of division between belief and unbelief]. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his [own] household [when one believes and another does not].” A confirmation that the Father will bring His children to Himself even if those closest to them do not agree.
We immediately were on our way to Mount Klabat, but in transit, we felt very strongly that we had to first stop at the school called SMK ICHTHUS High School where the boy had murdered the priest. We had not called in advance to let them know we were coming, but went simply due to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. When we arrived to the school we were surprised to see a big wooden star of David carved into the roof of the school building, and on the front porch stood the teachers, administrators and principal all dressed in black. They were all about to leave for the priest’s funeral. They were surprised when we arrived, but when we told them we came to pray, they gladly received us. We all came together in a circle and began to pray for them and for the school. After the group prayer, some of us felt to pray for certain people individually, as well as to walk the school grounds to pray for the protection and healing of the land and the students. It was a whirlwind time of prayer and worship, and apparently we were the only people who had come to pray with them, even though there were many churches in the area, and Manado being considered a Christian city. We continued on our way praising God for His perfect timing and divine appointment, and for bringing hope and healing to a weary, tired and grieving group of teachers and administrators. Please continue to pray for SMK ICHTHUS High School, for the teachers and the students, and for Adonai to enter their hearts bringing transformation and joy.
After our impromptu stop, we continued the drive to Mount Klabat, the tallest mountain in Sulawesi, and one of Indonesia’s gigantic Stratovolcanoes. As we drove to the mountain, we started to receive downloads from the Spirit of Hashem about what we were to do when we arrived. Standing near the peak of the mountain on a lookout, we could see the city of Manado facing the ocean with the Manado Island volcano clearly visible in the mouth of the bay. We were standing on the eastern most part of the Island of Sulawesi on the equatorial line of the world. After a time of discernment after having arrived, the Holy Spirit gave us the blueprint and the sequence of how to proceed. We understood that we first needed to repent for the worship of false gods and for replacement theology that had taken root there as it is has been a stronghold of the Catholic Church for more than 150 years. 2018 was the 150th anniversary of the Catholic Church in Manado. After a time of repentance, many of the brothers and sisters had visions of flaming running horses, and received verses like Joel 2:3-4 regarding Manado. It became clear to all of us after many confirmations that the Lord was renaming the city to the City of flaming Horses that represent the remnant who are not meant to walk, but run. As many as 14 times in the Word, name changes of both men and cities take place. For Manado, the calling was clear.
The Manado volcano in the bay below in the distance kept coming to our attention during the time of discernment, and we understood by the Holy Spirit that just as there are gates of heaven, there are also gates of hell. This Manado volcano was one such gate and it had been stealing the prayers of the saints. As such we prayed that Yeshua would close the gate of the enemy in the mouth of Manado using the key of David (Isaiah 22:22) and open the gate of the city for the flaming horses (remnant) to carry the Word of His testimony with the power of the Holy Spirit to all Indonesia. In the scripture we see how Ezra used to read aloud the Torah at the other side of the water gate of ancient Jerusalem and the people wept as they received the Word (Nehemiah 8:3-12). The Father was saying that from Manado where false teaching and replacement theology has been going forth, He would send His Ezra’s to read and teach the Word of God with power and authority, blessing instead of cursing Israel.
We continued praying first for the city of Manado, then for all of Indonesia, and finally as we were on the equatorial line of the globe, for the nations of the world declaring the God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven for each place according to Matthew 6:10 and 16:19 that says:
“I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven.”
We finished by singing Hatikvah, the national anthem of Israel believing Abba Father is aligning Manado, the City of Flaming Horses and Indonesia to Mount Zion, Jerusalem as well as prophesying the return of the Jews and the gentiles back to Jerusalem from Indonesia.
It is essential to understand that we are only a small part of the global body of Messiah and felt led by the Holy Spirit to go to these places in this time and season specifically. For the Believers in Manado, the City of Flaming Horses, in Indonesia and the world, it is important to continue to pray for the redemptive purpose of God to be fulfilled here as the fallen kingdom of darkness is constantly trying to sabotage and destroy the plans of God. As such, just as with our own lives, it is important to pray everyday and further our relationship with Yeshua lest we backslide and fall away. The same goes with Manado, the City of Flaming Horses, and any other person or place that God puts on your heart to pray for. If you feel led to continue praying for this city, or even go there to pray, please be obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit as those of us who went here in this particular season are only a small piece of a much larger puzzle. God bless you and keep you!
