The implications of this New Year are immense, full of challenges and difficulties, impossibilities, high walls and giants in the land. Excited yet? After reading this you will be armed with the strategies of heaven, and learn what going to war with Adonai looks like, and just how small the enemy really is. Nissan is a month of salvation, redemption, and miracles, with countless examples in Scripture of the mighty miracles done by the God of Israel during Nissan. The tribe of this month is Judah, the constellation above Israel during Nissan is the Ram, and the letter of this month is Hei. All of these elements of the month tie in intricately to the fabric of understanding the meaning of Nissan in the here and now. Pesah (Passover), celebrated this year ‪from April 8th to April 15th‬ is the major feast of Nissan, and plays an integral part in the past, present, and future of every person. It was during the month of Nissan that YHWH took Israel out of Egypt, but we must remember that all the way up to the very night of Passover (Nissan 15), the judgments of YHWH against Pharaoh and the gods up Egypt were still in full swing, until finally, Pharaoh let the Israelites go to worship Adonai. During the whole time of judgment, the Israelites were constantly looking toward the fulfillment of Elohim’s promise to Abraham (Genesis 17:4-22). As the battle with Covid-19 continues worldwide, and what was once comfortable and normal gets shaken, this is our opportunity to re-align ourselves to the promises of Adonai for our lives and our priorities moving forward. As the powers of the world are shaken, let’s get in tune with the Great I Am’s vision.

Over 40 years later Joshua and all of Israel, in the same month (Nissan) crossed the Jordan River ready to take down the first target, Jericho. Every general dead or alive will tell you that Joshua was by the world’s standards a very stupid general. They would have made almost zero of the same decisions Joshua made, especially in the case of Jericho. So, what did Joshua know that real-world generals do not? What are the mysteries that need to be unraveled for us to know the secrets to defeat far superior foes, and bringing down city walls without a single word? The simplicity and depth of the answer will shock you, and believe it or not, from Joshua’s crossing the Jordan to the victory at Jericho all in the month of Nissan, we get the full prophetic picture of the torture, death, and resurrection of Yeshua, leading us right to where we are today, 5780. Just like the invisible Coronavirus that has debilitated the world, the Ekklesia is still learning how to fight our invisible enemy, something Joshua learned early in life. This is the key to this generation bringing about the fulfillment of the return of the King of glory. The keys to victory are counterintuitive and make no sense to the world, but remember, the strategies of El Shaddai are not the same as man’s, and the beauty is, everything revealed here is transferable to our every day lives from the smallest issue to the greatest obstacle. “If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool [discarding his worldly pretensions and acknowledging his lack of wisdom], so that he may become [truly] wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness (absurdity, stupidity) before Adonai; for it is written [in Scripture], “[He is] The one who catches the wise and clever in their craftiness;” (1 Corinthians ‪3:18-19‬). Time to get foolish!

STUPID MISTAKE OR SEAL OF RIGHTEOUSNESS?

Immediately after crossing the Jordan River into enemy territory, the first thing Joshua does is have all of the men of Israel circumcised, leaving them completely defenseless while they heal, and if the enemy had decided to attack they would have all be slaughtered. Directly afterward they celebrate Pesach for eight days, once again leaving themselves vulnerable to attack. If I am thinking with the wisdom of the world this is stupid, but if I am listening to YHWH, it is genius, and essential for what lies ahead not only in the coming days but also in the coming years of war.

Why was the circumcision so important to risk the life of every Israelite, and what does the circumcision mean for us today? In order to understand we have to go back to Abraham, one of the most foolish people to ever live according to the standard of the world. Circumcision was God’s command to Abraham saying, “It shall be the sign (symbol, memorial) of the covenant between Me and you” (Genesis 17:11) Abba Father then goes on to tell Abraham that His wife Sarah who was 99 at the time was going to have a child, and that child would be the one to carry on the promise of Adonai. Laughable right? Well, they did, and this is actually the meaning of Issac (Laughter). So what does Abraham do? That very day Abraham with all of his men got circumcised with no time at all to even be with Sarah to know if she would be with a child! Abraham thanked Adonai before there was any evidence of it even being possible, against ridiculous odds that almost assured it wouldn’t come to pass. Such was Abraham’s trust and faith in King Emmanuel. Joshua and Israel also displayed the faith of Abraham, making no small statement by crossing the Jordan as the previous generation would not, and no matter the obstacle, they had absolute faith that El Elyon would fulfill His promise. The circumcision after crossing (Joshua 5:2-3) was a seal of the faith they had in the promise before being circumcised in the first place. It was a statement that just like Abraham they had the faith that the Almighty would do it without any physical evidence at the moment. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). It is like cleaning out your garage and thanking Yeshua for your brand new $100,000 car He promised you while you have a negative balance in your bank account. Faith in action.

The prophetic significance of the circumcision and celebration of Pesach after crossing the Jordan has a direct correlation to Yeshua’s torture and crucifixion, representing the circumcision (blood covenant) just hours before Israel celebrated Pesach (Passover) Mark 14:1-2. Seeing any similarities yet? What great promise did the Father show Yeshua that He was willing to endure untold torment and death? The name of the place where the circumcision happened after Israel crossed the Jordan gives us a clue. After the mass circumcision was finished, “Adonai said to Joshua, “This day I have rolled away the reproach (derision, ridicule) of Egypt from you.” So the name of that place is called Gilgal (rolling) to this day” (Joshua 5:9). Part of the promise the Father showed Yeshua, Who then shared it with His disciples (Matthew 16:21) was that He would be resurrected on the third day, and the stone in front of His tomb would be rolled away (Matthew 28:2). Just as He rolled away the reproach of Egypt from Joshua, He rolled away the reproach of sin and death through Yeshua. Didn’t it finish there though? No Way! That was just the beginning of the promise, and now it is our turn, not for the physical circumcision, but for the circumcision of our hearts as we are no longer under the law to prepare the way for the return of the King of glory, to be the spotless Bride of Messiah He is waiting for. “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love” (Galatians 5:6). This is what it means to be the Joshua generation, the John the baptists, preparers of the way walking in the 9 fruits and 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit from the perfect love of the Father.

Do you know the promises of Adonai over your life? Have you asked Him? Have you searched out His word? If you know them, have you acted on them? The promises both general and individual are good for nothing if we do not take the first leap of faith. We can choose to be just like the generation who wandered and perished in the desert for 40 years for their lack of faith, or we can be the Joshua generation who thinks according to the Kingdom paradigm instead of the fallen kingdom paradigm.

PESACH (PASSOVER)

Celebrating the victory before winning the victory doesn’t seem like the best idea, some people even see it as bad luck. When Joshua and Israel celebrated Pesach, and when we celebrate Pesach today, it is celebrating the King of kings for everything He has done for us, a reminder that the same God of Israel who delivered us from Egypt, parted the Red Sea, died and rose again on the third day, and defeated sin and death is the same Mighty Miracle Working God that goes with us and before us into this next season. It is a reminder and celebration of He Who was, and Is, and Is to come, as well as what was, and is, and is to come. There is no better preparation for the battle ahead than to recount the miracles God has done in our lives, to give Him thanks for those things, and to strengthen our faith in Him for the greater things yet to come. In these times of Covid-19, it is imperative that we celebrate just as Joshua and Israel celebrated in the midst of their enemies, just as Yeshua has called us to do in Psalm 23, saying He has set a table before us in the midst of our enemies. Just as the tribe of this month, Judah, means to give thanks, to praise; to worship, this is what we are being called to do as the Ekklesia with the fallen kingdom of darkness as terrified witnesses of our joy and victory through Yeshua no matter the circumstance. What miracles of Elohim do you recall in your storied past, and what miracles are you believing for to come? Be emboldened, encouraged and celebrate the King of glory who is your deliverer and your provider today and in this coming Pesach.

UNEXPECTED SURPRISE

After performing the circumcision and celebrating Pesach, the King of kings surprised Joshua with an unexpected gift, something Joshua had not asked for, but something the Eternal knew he needed. “Now when Joshua was by Jericho, he looked up, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his drawn sword in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us or for our adversaries?” He said, “No; rather I have come now as captain of the army of YHWH Tseva’ot (The Lord of Hosts)” (Joshua 5:13). Divine help on the eve of battle was given to Joshua in the form of the captain of the hosts of heaven. It’s starting to look like Joshua was making the right decisions. Even when we do not know exactly what we need to finish the job, Abba Father does, and He will continuously surprise us with everything we need to accomplish the task He has given when we display faith in action. Joshua was operating in “Hei” the letter of the month which is the unification of giving and receiving. It stands for expression (thought, speech, action) and revelation. In laymen’s terms, when Joshua believed the Father and did what He had asked without hesitation, He then gave him what he needed in return to continue victoriously. If you do this then… Many promises of the Kingdom are conditional, so we must check the conditions for receiving a given promise before complaining that we didn’t receive it.

Although the enemy Israel was fighting was very much in the flesh, the principles behind the strategy for victory was in the Spirit. Just like the battle we fight today as Believers is not only against flesh and blood, but also against principalities and powers in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12), it is clear that the normal rules of war do not apply to us, and we must learn to fight the spiritual battle. How are you fighting? Who are you fighting? It is time to pause and remember who the real enemy is, remembering that our victory is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Most High (Zechariah 4:6). Unexpected provision from unknown people and places is coming to you this Nissan as your journey of stepping out in faith continues, and the strategies and blueprint of heaven are coming to your life to bring the promised victory. Do not be scared to go day by day, asking the Holy Spirit at every step and consulting the Word, and watch as the gates of Nissan open wide for you to enter. As you honor the Aleph and the Tav, by acting on what He has called you for, even if it looks crazy to others. If He has given you the vision He will certainly give you the provision. Are you ready to war alongside the angels of Adonai? Are you ready to go to war with YHWH Gibbor Milchamah (The Lord mighty in battles)? Let faith arise as we cross the threshold of the Biblical New Year.

WAY MAKER

When Joshua sent the two spies to Jericho (Joshua 2:1-2), they would have been captured if it hadn’t been for Rahab the prostitute who hid them from the king and his men (Joshua 2:3-7). When the authorities left, Rahab gave the two spies instructions on how to escape, then lowered them from the window of her house conveniently built into the main wall of the city (Joshua ‪2:15-16‬). The Way Maker had once again made a way where there seemed to be no way, by means of a prostitute no less. How mysterious are the ways of Elohim? When He saw Rahab He did not see the prostitute, but rather a woman who would save two sons of Israel, and was worthy herself to be saved. Rahab and her family were also destined to be killed when the armies of Israel breached the walls of Jericho, but because of her selfless act in saving the two spies, she was given a way to live when death was all but certain. The impossible is just another way for Adonai to be glorified when He makes a way as it is only Him who receives the glory when the impossible is overcome.

Perhaps you are feeling trapped like the 2 spies must have felt, totally helpless with seemingly no way out, or like Rahab, besieged and terrified. The God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob is a God who hears and cares, and as you ask Him for help, He will make a way no matter how lost or unseen you think you are. He knows you by name and is waiting for you to reach out. Now is the time to flip the narrative of your story, and believe that adversity and a bad situation is not the end, but just another opportunity for Emmanuel to prove that He is every bit of Who He says He is. As we speak He is making a way where there was no way before, and He is calling us to remember that He works all things together for our good, for the ones who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28), even if at first we do not see it. How though could Rahab, a prostitute have known she was making the right decision? She did not know the law of Moses and did not witness the miracles the Israelites witnessed. Here it lies the key.

“I know that Adoani has given you the land, and that the terror and dread of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have melted [in despair] because of you. For we have heard how The God of Israel dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan [on the east], to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. When we heard it, our hearts melted [in despair], and a [fighting] spirit no longer remained in any man because of you; for Adonai your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath” (Joshua 2:8-11).

The fear of the Almighty (Awe and reverential fear) which is the beginning of wisdom drove her to even lie to her king because she now knew the miracle-working power of the Great I Am. Without proverbs having been written she understood proverbs 14:27 that says, “The [reverent] fear of YHWH [that leads to obedience and worship] is a fountain of life, so that one may avoid the snares of death.” She had unlocked one of the greatest treasures of scripture that the Fear of YHWH is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), and “Wisdom is worth more than silver; it brings more profit than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you could want is equal to it” (Proverbs ‪3:14-15‬). She had the Fear of God, and faith just as Abraham did, that He would save her and her family. At that moment the infamous scripture spoken by Joshua before his death (Joshua 24:15) was clearly not just true for the Jew, but the gentile also; “As for me and my house, we will serve Adonai” “So Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her father’s household and everything that she had; and she has lived among Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers (scouts) whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho” (Joshua 6:25).

As many of us sit with our families or find ourselves in greater communication with them during these times of trouble, now is the time not to fear Covid-19, although we must be prudent, rather it is time to learn the Fear (reverential awe) of the King of glory. It is time to bring our family before His throne and declare, “As for me and my house, we shall serve Adonai.” Now in this time when it feels like the world is being besieged, let’s remember the blood of Yeshua that was given freely for our sake so we would no longer live according to the world, but by the Spirit, free and in the joy of Elohim even in the harshest of times.

BLOW THE SHOFAR (RAM’s HORN)

The constellation in the sky above Israel during Nissan is the Ram, a male sheep, and before we have the argument about the stars in heaven let’s remember that there are at least eight verses in the Bible that name multiple constellations by name and that the sun, moon, and stars were put there by The Creator to differentiate between day and night, to mark sacred times, seasons and years (Genesis 1:14). We do not worship the stars, but they are useful in understanding the times and seasons. The Ram is no different, and the fact that this constellation is in view during Pesach, the same month as the exodus, the fall of Jericho and the death and resurrection of Yeshua, the lamb that was slain, aught to give us pause. Even the ram’s horn played a pivotal role in the downfall of Jericho, with the seven priests that went before the Ark of the Covenant blowing ram’s horns (Joshua 6:4). First the blood of the Lamb for protection from death and escape from slavery in Egypt, then the horn of the ram to help deliver The Promised Land to Israel. The shofar is a weapon of spiritual warfare that Numbers 10:9 tells us when we blow in the time of an attack He will hear and come to our aid. Then comes the blood of Yeshua (The Lamb), that delivered us from sin and death, and the time is coming closer when the seventh angel will blow his trumpet, and there will be loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of YHWH and of His Messiah, and He shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).

As we enter Nissan, it is important to remember this month is represented by the tribe of Judah, also the tribe of Yeshua, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and as the shofars blew on the 7th day at Jericho, the people gave a great shout and the wall of Jericho fell down (Joshua 6:20). Let’s enter this new month with a shout of victory, joined by the Lion of the Tribe of Judah! Warn you neighbors and tell your kids, then release the roar together, a prophetic act of the walls of the enemy both in the natural and the Spirit coming down for the glory of Hashem, and the prophetic roar that gives thanks to the Eternal for what He is about to do.

CONCLUSION

As we can see through the events of Joshua crossing the Jordan and taking Jericho, and unknowingly prophesying the torture, crucifixion, and resurrection of Yeshua some 1,400 years later, it is clear we know nothing. It is time “we become fools [discarding our worldly pretensions and acknowledging our lack of wisdom], so that we may become [truly] wise” (1 Corinthians 3:18). We can continue to fool ourselves into thinking we are wiser than The Creator of heaven and earth, or just get real and understand we know nothing of His ways to become like children and be His best students. If we take this seriously, our lives will become much richer in every area as we know more about the heart and mind of the Father. This is also the month to circumcise our hearts just as Deuteronomy 30:6 says, to love Yahweh Eloheicha (The Lord your God) with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.” To love someone with such fervor does not just mean believing He is real, but also knowing His love for us and ours for Him, making a joyful effort to please Him who has given all that we could be one with Him. Let us spend more time with the one who knit us together in our mother’s womb and knew us before we were born, letting Him circumcise our hearts and stitch together the wounds of the past. What would Nissan be without a feast?! Don’t forget to celebrate the King of Majesty this Pesach, both Jew, and Gentile as we remember the history, miracles, and promises of long past and the miracles of our own lives that would not have been possible without The One Who Gave It All. Let’s celebrate the victory in Yeshua Who was, and is, and is to come. As we celebrate and prophesy with great expectation the fulfillment of YHWH’s promises over ourselves, families, cities, and nations, expect the unexpected gifts of the King straight from His throne that will blow your mind. No matter what situation and circumstance you are in, especially during this Coronavirus, it is time to shift our vision and our trust mechanisms from that of the world to the divine strategies of Elohim, letting Him make the way, while we get out of our way and into His. Don’t forget to see with the eyes of Yeshua the people around you, and remember Rahab the prostitute, the least likely, and some would say the least worthy, but Emmanuel knew her. Ask the Father about the people around you. What is this person’s destiny in you? What do you love about this person? Then prophecy that into their lives and watch a transformation take place. Lastly, Nissan is the month of the Ram, the Shofar, and the roar of the Lion of the tribe of Judah. It is time to enter the gates of this new Biblical Year with a sounding of the trumpet and a roar that will put the army at Jericho to shame. Covid-19 seems substantial, but just like the walls of Jericho, it will come tumbling down, and we as the Body of Messiah will march faithfully onward, preparing the way for the return of Yeshua Ha’Masshiah.

 <div id="fws_6a84e791e82d6" data-column-margin="default" data-midnight="dark" class="wpb_row vc_row-fluid vc_row full-width-section standard_section " style="padding-top: 60px;
