What a prophetic month we are entering into. This is the month to implement the strategies (attack and defense) one has received from God in every aspect of our lives. It is also time to look closely at the alliances we have made and to decide if it is from the Lord. We will begin to see the fruits of trusting in the voice of the Holy Spirit, and the once bleak horizon will give way to His promise. We are now in the 10th biblical month of the Biblical calendar that lasts from sundown on December 8th to sundown January 6th in the Gregorian Calendar. We transition into Tevet during a unique alignment of open heavens this year. What makes it such a prophetic day is the fact that Rosh Kodesh (the eve of Tevet) was also a Shabbat, as well as in the midst of the festival of Hannukah which ends on Tevet 3. It is a trifecta of open heavens and a day of alignment. We move from the month of Kislev, the month of dreams, visions and receiving divine strategy to Tevet, the month of implementing that strategy and making key decisions. It is a month of great contrasts in history. On the one hand we remember that in the month of Tevet, Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem before destroying the Temple, which is commemorated by a day of fasting to this day on Tevet 10. It is also a time of hope and promise however, with Esther being made queen of Babylon during this month (Esther 2:16-17), the rededication of the 2nd Temple after the defeat of the Greek/Syrian army (Hannukah), and when Noah first saw the top of the mountains as the waters began to recede from the great flood (Genesis 8:5). It is both a time of judgement and new beginnings when we must make crucial decisions regarding the beginning of the new gregorian year. Now is the time to put into motion the divine strategy of the Lord mighty in battles, the moment to dig in and stand fast, but also to begin receiving the promise that Adonai has been preparing. Keep your eyes focused on Him, and even in the midst of turmoil and accusation, stick firmly to the path of Yeshua. The mountain tops are just over the horizon, and the promise of God is at hand!

TRIBE: DAN

Dan was the first son of Rachel born of her servant Bilhah, and at his birth, “Rachel said, God has judged me, and has also heard my voice, and has given me a son: therefore she called him Dan” (Genesis 30:6). Dan was born of unique circumstances with Rachel both grateful, but also upset that her servant had a child while she could not. Therefore, she named him Dan which comes from the Hebrew word, “To Judge”. When Jacob prophesied over Dan, the word “judge” comes up again, but in a slightly different context. “Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. “Dan shall be a [venomous] serpent in the way, a fanged snake in the path, that bites the horse’s heels, so that his rider falls backward” (Genesis 49:16-17). So even though Dan was not born from the womb of Rachel, the Lord allowed Dan to be a tribe of Israel. We see a pattern of what may seem like Dan being unappreciated, even when Moses prophesied over Dan and said, “Dan is a lion’s whelp : he shall leap from Bashan” (Deuteronomy 33:22). The word whelp literally means (Impudent or despised youth), but when we look at the bigger picture, not at Dan being a despised youth, but rather at the fact that Dan is described as a lion, we see that it was an honor given only to one other tribe, Judah. In fact, one of the most renowned judges of Israel was from the tribe of Dan. Samson was the epitome of a lion, yet also a snake in the grass to the then much stronger Philistines who had at the time taken control of Israel. Even after being blinded, chained and paraded before the enemy, his last dying act was to bring down the temple of dagon on himself and all of the the governors of the Philistines as the Almighty restored his strength one last time. Samson made many mistakes to be sure, but he completed the mission that God had given him, fulfilling the promise that he would be used as an instrument to deliver his people. Even if it seems as though a situation is hopeless, or we feel close to our breaking point, it is time to lift our heads and continue calling upon the Lord, declaring His Word and promise over our lives and those around us for its fulfillment is at hand. If you feel like a lion’s whelp, remember, you are a lion nonetheless, destined to greatness and victory through and by the Lord of Hosts.

We must not overlook the fact that Dan was the first of the tribes to fall to idolatry after taking the promised land. Judges 18 chronicles Dan’s idolatry, and how even before taking the fullness of the land allotted to them, they turned away from Elohim, deciding instead to worship false idols. It was even a grandson of Moses who became their false priest. Perhaps it was because of this idolatry that Dan is actually left out of the inheritance of the New Jerusalem in Revelation 7:4-8. One decision to worship a carving and an ephod over the Almighty led to forfeiture of Dan’s inheritance in the New Jerusalem. Stay focused mighty men and women of the Most High, because the unseen enemy is reeling at your perseverance! To all of the intercessors and leaders in the Body of Christ, during this momentous season, the enemy is counting on your desertion, and is trying to do everything to break your will and those around you. Get your shields up and shields locked to the person on your left and right, and continue affirming and praying for your brothers and sisters. During the exodus from Egypt, when Israel marched, Dan was the rear guard. The rear guard is one of the most important and dangerous positions in an army on the move, often times taking the brunt of the casualties, and receiving very little recognition. In the Body of Christ, it is often times the intercessors who are standing in the gap, but receiving very little recognition, and even leaders who often times feel lonely in their positions of authority with few to confide in. We must stand strong with our brothers and sisters in Christ, fighting as a unit, not alone, lest we get surrounded and outmatched. “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:13).

APOSTLE: PAUL

The original apostle of the month of Tevet and of the tribe of Dan was Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus, who was then replaced by Saul, who later became Paul. Although Paul was of the tribe of Benjamin, he was once like Judas who persecuted the believers of Yeshua, but God had great mercy on Saul, and was greatly glorified through him. Just like the tribe of Dan, Judas preferred to worship false idols (silver), instead of Jesus, the Way the Truth and the Life. We see that Paul who was once a murderer and persecutor of the Believers, and is a testament to the complete forgiveness of sin that came through the blood of Yeshua, and the full transformation into a new person altogether in Christ. No matter what situation Paul found himself in, his eyes were always on the promise of God. Through every obstacle and persecution, Paul never quit, because his thoughts and reality were not of the flesh, but of the Spirit, as the God is Spirit (1 Corinthians 11:22-33). Even though he had never beheld Jesus Christ physically, his faith was unfailing. No matter what the enemy is throwing at you, be steadfast, and full of the joy of the Lord! Be so sure in the Promises of our King so that even death will not deter your path, and remember that, “Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God” (Romans 8:10).

CONSTELLATION: CAPRICORN (GEDI)

The constellation of this month is Capricorn, or “Gedi” in Hebrew, which means goat. The goat is seen in both a positive and negative sense in the Bible. In one instance the goat is the animal that takes on the sin of Israel (Leviticus 16:22), and in another instance the Word says that He will separate the sheep and the goat nations, the goat nations being the nations that are judged by Him (Matthew 26:31-46). In either case, we should be sure not to align with those who are not aligned with the King of glory, lest we fall into the goat category this season. Instead we must be like the goats of Habbakkuk 3:19 where it says, “He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, And makes me walk on my high places.” When our refuge is in the Father, “He will not allow our feet to slip; He who keeps us will not slumber” (Psalm 121:3). Even in what may seem the most treacherous or uncomfortable of times, when we are on the verge of falling from the mountainside, we must keep our eyes locked on His, and He will see us to the top. Now is not time to worry about the obstacles or the circumstances, but to trust in Him who makes the way clear.

LETTER: AYIN

The letter Ayin means “eye” or “to see”. This month will be a time of seeing more clearly in the Spirit, when eyes will be opened to the things of God in the heavenly realms. Oh how important are the eyes! “ The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light” (Matthew 6:22). Make it a point to clear your eyes this month, and see from the heavenly places. Be in the throne room with the King, looking from His perspective, seeing from His eyes and His heart. Where are your eyes fixed? Are they wandering or focused? “Let your eyes look directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you” (Proverbs 4:25). Lord show us the plans of your enemies like you showed your prophet Elisha, whom you brought into the tent of your enemies (2 Kings 12), and open our eyes like Elisha’s servant who saw that, “The mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha”. The Hosts of heaven surround us even when we are not aware, and the Holy Spirit gives us insight and understanding beyond our capacity. See the unseen, and be strengthened in the knowledge that the Lord is a shield round about you (Psalm 3:3).

NUMBERS: 10 & 70

The numbers of Tevet are 10, as it is the tenth month of the Biblical calendar, and 70, the number associated with the letter Ayin. The number 10 represents something coming to completion or fully running it’s course. The number 70 is made up of seven tens, signifying not only completion, but also divine order and entering into a new season, epoch, era, cicle, etc. It represents both perfect order as well as judgement. For example, Israel spent a total number of 70 years in captivity in Babylon (Jeremiah 29:10). These numbers also have another unique connection to Jerusalem. Seventy sevens (490 years) were determined upon Jerusalem for it to complete its transgressions, to make an end for sins and for everlasting righteousness to enter into it (Daniel 9:24). In the same light, 70 elders were appointed by Moses (Numbers 11:16), and after reading the covenant God gave him to read to the people, Moses took 70 elders with Aaron and his sons up Mount Sinai to eat with God (Exodus 24: 9 – 11). On the other hand, the prophet Ezekiel was taken by God to Jerusalem to be shown 70 elders of Israel defiling themselves by offering incense to their idols (Ezekiel 8). This month is the month to choose which group of 70 elders we will be. Let us be aligned to the Lord of lords and make our way up the mountain as the 70 elders did with Moses and Aaron, and to eat at the table with Adonai, even in the midst of our enemies (Psalm 23)!

COLOR: LIGHT BLUE

The color of the month is light blue like the turquoise stone. Blue is very significant in the Word of God, and in the natural is one of the three primary colors, from which all other colors are created. Blue symbolizes both salvation and healing in the Bible. In numbers 15:38-41 the Lord commands the sons of Israel to add a blue chord to the tassel at the edge of their garments in remembrance of God taking Israel out of Egypt. In Matthew 9:21, the woman is healed when she touches the edge of Yeshua’s garment. Blue also signifies priesthood, authority and royalty, as one of the main colors of the tabernacle and robes of the high priests were blue, even the veil of the Holy of Holies was made of blue, purple and crimson fabric (Numbers 4:6-12, Exodus 26:1, Chronicles 3:14). Blue also speaks of the presence and majesty of Yahweh, and the Word of God as it was the Spirit of the Lord that hovered over the waters in the beginning (John 1:1, Genesis 1:2). Even the fact that the sky is blue is a reminder that Elohim is all encompassing and everywhere. Remember this month that you are part of a royal priesthood of the Most High, you have been redeemed from captivity and sin, healing is a promise of Adonai, and that wherever you armor go, even in this vastness of the universe, God is still Emmanuel (God with us).

PROPHETIC MESSAGE

Implement the divine strategy, align correctly as a sheep of the Lord, be sure footed on the heights, receive fresh insight into the heavenly realms and enter into this new season with increased strength and renewed vigor. Be filled with the fire from the throne of the Almighty for the victorious battle ahead! Affirm your brothers and sisters in Yeshua, and sound the shofar on the walls, standing and fighting alongside the Hosts of heaven to thwart the plans of the enemy and accomplish the mandates of our Father in heaven for this time and season in which we are living. The earth will shake at the roaring of the Lion of the tribe of Judah, revealing her hidden treasures. The heavens will tremble as the principalities and powers of darkness come tumbling from their false thrones as the prophetic clock of God ticks closer to the end of the devil (Revelation 12:12), and the return of the King of glory (Revelation 22:20). The season of winter is here, and we must be like the brides waiting for the King, with extra oil for our lamps so that we may keep warm and be able to see when He comes. You will not miss the “Moed” (appointed time) with the bride groom this month, and you will dine with Him at His table atop Mount Sinai! I am with you, I am for you says the Lord, now follow Me. I am your Shelter in the storm, your warmth in the cold and your Light by night.

Join our Email List Updates
Subscribe

Tevet!
