Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Let’s not take the time we have for granted, but rather take advantage of the mercy of Adonai.

While we were in Cambodia, a nation riddled with a past full of devastation and horrors, and ruled by the unrighteous and unjust, we were led to intercede using Psalm 89:14, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne.” We were led not just to pray this over Cambodia while we were there, but rather to also go to the ancient foundations of the nation to worship in Spirit and in Truth, declare the Word of God, and blow the shofar on the heights of the false places of worship that have been such a corrupted cornerstone of this ancient nation. We arrived in Siem Reap, just north of the great lake of Tonle Sap, just a few miles away from the ancient capitals of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom of the Khmer Empire. The Khmer Empire that spanned 800 A.D. to 1431 A.D. was the longest continuous empire in Southeast Asia, and at its height ruled the territory of modern day Cambodia, parts of Laos and Vietnam. Angkor Wat was the greatest capital of the Khmer empire, and is home to hundreds of temples, and was known to inhabit over one million people, by far the largest city in the world until the onset of the industrial revolution. Angkor Wat plays such a prominent role in the nation that It is even the symbol of the Cambodian flag. It was here that the Holy Spirit led us to declare that righteousness and justice will be the new foundations of Cambodia for the Glory of God.

We left early in the morning and hopped aboard a tuk tuk, enjoying the overcast skies and the sweet breeze as we putted along the highway. We reached our first destination, Ta Prohm, a temple famous for being covered by gigantic tree roots. This temple, as well as most other temples in the ancient city are still in use to this day with Buddha statues and statues of Hindu deities scattered throughout the catacombs of the temples with incense burning. After exploring the temple, the Holy Spirt led us to a certain spot where we began to worship Yeshua in Spirit and Truth, changing the atmosphere as the One True God was given praise. We prayed as the Spirit of God led, and ended with a blow of the shofar. There were no signs that said we couldn’t blow the shofar so we figured it was fair game, much to the chagrin of all of the guards at each of the five temples we visited. We headed next to Ta Keo Temple, an unfinished temple that nonetheless is a colossal temple, that like many of the temples is built to resemble Mount Meru, or the five mountains where the gods reside in Hindu mythology. After quite a few stairs/ ladders we made it to the peak of the artificial mountain where we were led to pray against the principalities and powers that claimed this place as home and blew the shofar with a mighty trump, remembering Amos 2:2 that says, “but I will send fire in Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth; and Moab shall die in tumult, with shouting and with the sound of the shofar:”

<div class="img-with-aniamtion-wrap center margin_top_tablet_3pct margin_top_phone_3pct " data-max-width="100%" data-max-width-mobile="110%" data-border-radius="none" data-shadow="none" data-animation="fade-in"  style="margin-top: 3%; On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4).

Our last destination was the main Angkor Wat Temple, the main attraction of the ancient city, and the largest and most impressive temple on the grounds. The entrance is guarded by four statues of the god Shiva (Destruction) all of which we stood before, declaring the victory of Yeshua over each idol of worship. We made our way to the inner courtyard and into the main temple complex, praying in the Spirit and worshipping as we went. We arrived just in time to the highest section of the temple before it closed. We arrived at the very top where there are two standing Buddah’s carved into the rock face on either side of the center tower of the five towers, where countless devotees come to bow down and pray to the deaf, dumb and blind statues. Oh Father that all may know you who gives freely the gift of Salvation through Christ who died for us! Our anger burns not against those that worship false gods, but rather against “the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). Just like most of the temples in the ancient city, the temples were once dedicated to Hindu gods and converted into Buddhist temples, with all of the Hindu remnants remaining. We were the last group to be allowed to the top for the day, giving us time to take a seat on the smoothed and weathered rock floor where we opened the Word of Life and declared Revelation 20:13 to 21:5 over the fallen kingdom of darkness that had taken up residence on this false mountain, reminding them of their impending judgement and the fallacy of this pretend holy place. There is only one city of God, Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2), and one creator, Yeshua, the Word of God (John 1:1). We prayed that the redemptive purpose over the site of this temple, and this ancient city come to life, as well as for the ancient foundations that have so long polluted the land be transformed by the blood of Jesus into foundations of righteousness and Justice (Psalm 89:14) for the Glory of God. We descended from the temple at peace and assured by the Holy Spirit that it was mission accomplished. We blew the shofar one last time as we exited the temple, a victory cry, and signal to the angels of heaven to descend upon the “City of Temples”, to take back this ancient stronghold of false worship. We had an ice cream on the way out for good measure 🙂 and enjoyed the leisurely ride to the airport on our luxury tuk tuk, secure in the fact that the Lord of battles went before us that day.

When we are secure with our identity in Christ, we are confident enough as “His anointed ones” (Psalm 2:2) to take the nations as our inheritance (Psalm 2:8), as the promise of the Most High. When we make the Glory of Israel our refuge (Psalm 2:12), the futility of the scheming of the enemy becomes evident. The fear and pride that once controlled our lives gives way to love and humility as the Spirit of God teaches us, the blood of Yeshua transforms us, and the love of the Father makes us whole. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). A fear that was once incapacitating becomes a laughing matter in the presence of the Lord. “Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death” (Proverbs 14:26-27). As for the individual, so it is for a nation. Every government that rules contrary to righteousness and justice can expect nothing but judgement, so let us pray fervently for the nations that they be ruled righteously and justly, receiving the mercy and blessing of the Owner of the nations. Pray with us for Cambodia that desperately needs the prayers of the saints to turn the ear of the Lord to the plight of the nation. May righteousness and justice be the new foundations of Cambodia for such time as this. Be glorified and be lifted high Abba in the transformation of this nation into a covenant nation. On July 29th, the presidential elections of Cambodia are set to take place with little hope in the way of change as the main opposition party has been disbanded by the government from participating. This entrenchment of the corrupt and inept leadership of the nation is contrary to the righteousness and justice needed in Cambodia. With God all things are possible, so let us have faith that the miraculous be fulfilled in this country full of potential. “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

  <div id="fws_6a86839d1006a"  data-column-margin="default" data-midnight="dark"  class="wpb_row vc_row-fluid vc_row standard_section "  style="padding-top: 0px;
