Today is the 23rd of Nissan,<\/strong> on the Biblical Calendar, or April 23rd<\/strong>\u00a0on the Gregorian Calendar.\u00a0 It is the 7th day of the Counting of the Omer, which is the 49 day period of time starting the day after the first day of Pesach (Passover)<\/em> otherwise known as the Feast of Weeks in Scripture.<\/em><\/strong> This year it lasts from the night of April 16th and ends on the night of June 3rd. \u00a0It is the countdown to Shavuot (Pentecost) which is celebrated on the 50th day,\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> (Leviticus \u202a23:15-16\u202c)<\/em>.\u00a0 An Omer refers to a tenth of an ephah, which is a dry grain measuring system that is equal to about 3.6 liters today. \u00a0On each of the 49 days of the counting of the Omer,\u00a0one Omer of wheat or barley is bundled together into what is called a \u201csheaf\u201d<\/em> which was\u00a0waved as an offering by the priest before Adonai (Leviticus 23:11)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Today however as Yeshua took the place of that offering, we must ask ourselves, are we bringing sweet incense before the throne of Adonai? \u00a0<\/strong>How can we be a sheaf offering for Him? \u00a0Could it be that when we come together in unity as a \u201csheaf\u201d of first fruits and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth,<\/em> being of one mind and one spirit like the 120 did leading up to Shavuot (Pentecost)<\/em>, could we see another outpouring of the Holy Spirit around the globe?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As we understand what happened Biblically during this 49 day period of time we understand also the parallels with today. Just think, during the first week of the Counting of the Omer was when the walls of Jericho fell after Israel came into the promised land for the first time on the 23rd of Nissan,<\/em><\/strong> which would have been April 24th. \u00a0Just as Israel marched as one and shouted as one in following God\u2019s instruction, it is time for us to do the same, knowing that victory is certain when we do as Adonai commands.<\/strong> Now we have reached the 2nd week leading up to the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost).<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It was during this time that Yeshua appeared to His disciples,<\/strong> and many others after His resurrection, speaking to them regarding the Kingdom of Heaven (Acts 1:3)<\/em> which should make us reflect on the true significance of this current season. Yeshua is very much alive, just as He showed Thomas when He had him touch the nail marks in the palms of His hands and the hole in His side (John 20:27)<\/em>.\u00a0 He is just as real today as He was on that day with Thomas.\u00a0 On the 40th day of the Counting of the Omer after His resurrection, Yeshua ascended to heaven,<\/em><\/strong> and had the disciples not listened to the instructions of Yeshua to stay in Jerusalem during the ten days leading up to Shavuot, they would have missed the appointed time to receive the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49)<\/em>.\u00a0 In Pesach we received the blood of Yeshua on the doorposts of our hearts, but during this next 49 days (Omer)<\/em> He says to tarry until the 50th day<\/strong> (Shavuot)<\/em>. But not tarry in fear, anxiety, or worry, but rather with great expectation, prayer, and oneness to receive the inheritance from the Father, namely an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.<\/em><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Let’s remember, before the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Shavuot in the upper room, it was a celebration of Moses receiving the Torah on Mount Sinai.<\/em> <\/strong>\u00a0Talk about a day of open heavens to receive the blueprint of Adonai! \u00a0These are days to live in complete spiritual alignment, receiving the healing, restoration, and restitution through the power of the blood and resurrection of Yeshua Ha\u2019Mashiah,<\/strong> so that we can continue on the right path leading us to our spiritual Mount Sinai (Shavuot)<\/em>, where we will receive divine instructions, and a new fresh manifestation of the Holy Spirit in our lives, families, congregations, businesses, communities, cities, and nations. Hallelujah! Adonai bless you and keep you!<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\n\t
