What Is The Restoration of The Tabernacle of David?<\/h3>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t

This topic of the restoration of the Tabernacle of David<\/strong> has brought both contention and unity amongst the global Body of Yeshua, and is one of the great keys to understanding the kingdom of God and the millennial Kingdom that is to come. When we think about what it looks like to see the Tabernacle of David restored, we reasonably tend to think of the place of worship on Mount Zion<\/em><\/strong> where David had the Ark of the Covenant placed in a structure, around which worshippers were chosen to worship 24\/7 (1 Chronicles 16:37, 1 Chronicles 25:9). The question is then, is 24\/7 worship the Biblical restoration of the Tabernacle of David spoken of in Amos 9:11,<\/strong> or is it something that when properly understood in its fullness could be what brings about the last great revival and the return of Yeshua?<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\n\t

\u201cIn that day I shall raise up and restore the fallen tabernacle<\/strong> (booth) of David<\/strong>,
\nAnd wall up its breaches [in the city walls];
\nI will also raise up and restore its ruins
\nAnd rebuild it as it was in the days of old.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What is a Tabernacle?<\/h4>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s begin with our image of the word \u201ctabernacle\u201d<\/em><\/strong> as it is often understood by much of the global Body of Yeshua as an extravagant tent or building, but in reality the word in Hebrew used in Amos 9:11<\/strong> is \u201cSukkah\u201d<\/em><\/strong>. A sukkah is the least extravagant and most rudimentary of shelters made of tree foliage, palm branches, and other natural materials with a roof through which you can see the stars (Leviticus 23:40). It is these types of shelters that are made and lived in for 7 days each year in Israel to this day during Sukkot<\/strong><\/em> (The Feast of Tabernacles). Jonah also made himself a sukkah as he sat outside the city of Nineveh waiting for God\u2019s wrath to fall upon the city (Jonah 4:5). Isaiah 1:7-9 speaks of the desolation that was coming for Israel and in verse 8 puts it this way, \u201cThe Daughter of Zion (Jerusalem) is left like a [deserted] sukkah in a vineyard, like a watchman\u2019s hut in a cucumber field, like a besieged city [isolated, surrounded by devastation].\u201d<\/em> This gives us the horror associated with the sukkah to Jewish people when not associated with Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) as it is representative of great destruction, judgement, and desolation, not a beautiful or extravagant structure as most people tend when seeing the word tabernacle.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In Amos 9:11<\/strong> it is clear that the Sukkah of David has fallen<\/strong>, meaning that the Davidic kingdom is in disrepair,<\/strong> <\/em>speaking of all the tragedy and judgement that befell the descendants of King David\u2019s royal line and the rest of Israel. The prophet Amos uses the term \u201csukkah\u201d<\/em> in a similar way to that of Isaiah 1:8 in Amos 9:11 after having spoken in the ten previous verses about God\u2019s great judgement over Israel. We see this again in Isaiah 11<\/strong> after also speaking in the previous verses about the great destruction and exile of the Jewish people.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Past, Present and Future<\/h4>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We know of the past glory of King David and his rule, and very well of its destruction, and ruin, but what of its future full restoration?<\/em> After the destruction and pain prophesied over and experienced by Israel and the Jewish people as a whole, and now in the present being able to look back in history both Biblically and otherwise at this great suffering, we also see the continued fulfillment of God\u2019s promise to restore Israel.<\/strong> Besides its judgement, as Amos 9:11 makes clear, it is also prophesied that the Jewish people would return from exile not only once but twice in Isaiah 11:11-12 and Jeremiah 31:10, which the world has witnessed happen for more than 100 years now. The prophecies of the Jewish people being restored to the Promised Land are coming to pass, but this is not yet the complete restoration of the Davidic kingdom where Yeshua will rule and reign from Zion<\/em><\/strong> (Luke 1:32.33).<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A Governmental Restoration<\/h4>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The restoration of the Tabernacle of David is mostly governmental in nature.<\/em> <\/strong>Israel has been re-established and the Jewish people are returning, but we are still waiting for the King Yeshua to return to rule and reign from Zion over the nations of the earth<\/strong>. Hosea 3:4-5 tells us after a long wait without a king or any other thing befitting a priestly nation, as has been Israel\u2019s position, that \u201cAfterward, the people of Israel will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come in awe to the Lord and to his goodness in the last days.\u201d<\/em> We know that Yeshua has already come for the salvation of all mankind and ascended to the right hand of the Father, but when He returns it will be to stay and rule the earth as the King of kings.<\/strong> When the fullness of the gentiles comes in then Israel will be saved (Romans 11:25-26).<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In order to have a clearer picture of the past glory and future glory that Israel and the Davidic Kingdom,<\/strong> namely the restoration of the governmental authority of the seed of David, Yeshua and His rule and reign from Jerusalem,<\/strong><\/em> these 6 scriptures will be of great help. (Isaiah 2:1-4, Zechariah 8:20-23, Jeremiah 23:5-8, Zechariah 14:16, Isaiah 11:35, Isaiah 9:6-7.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Despite all that has happened to the stump of David, the God of Israel has promised to revive David\u2019s dynasty. This one might shock you though. There are scriptures which lead us to understand in this future Davidic Kingdom ruled by Yeshua,<\/strong> that not only David himself (resurrected), but also his physical descendants will rule and reign in Jerusalem alongside and subordinate to Yeshua Ha\u2019Mashiach. These following passages describe that very same prophetic future of the coming rule and reign of Yeshua. (Jeremiah 30:9, 33:17, 21-22,26; Ezekiel 34:23-24; Zechariah 12:7-13:1).<\/em><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\n\t
