There are now three fires raging in California. One fire in Norther California in Butte County has already destroyed the town of Paradise, destroying over 7,000 structures, and killing 9 people trying to escape in their cars. It has now spread to be larger than 110 square miles with no signs of slowing down. Over 50,000 people in Butte county alone have been told to evacuate. In Southern California, very close to Los Angeles, two other major fires dubbed the Woolsey and Hill Fires have already destroyed over 150 homes and consumed 4,500 and 70,00 acres respectively. As of today, November 10th the Woolsey fire has reportedly killed 2 people, led to the mandatory evacuation of more than 200,000 residents near Los Angeles County, and has left 20,000 residents in L.A. without power. The weather is fueling the fires with extremely dry conditions and very high winds from 50 to 80 miles per hour. These fires began only days after the mass shooting that happened just days ago very close to the same area as these southern California fires. It is time to intercede for the state of California for the divine intervention of the Lord that He stop the wind of the east and bring rain to this dry land. Please pray for the safety of the firefighters that are battling the blazes, and for the families that have lost loved ones and their homes. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Please join with us in bringing our petitions to the Lord! California needs our prayers.
